So far I’m very happy with the sitters I’ve been able to message with. While I have not had the opportunity to use each one of thier services I have found them all to be responsive, genuine animal lovers, great backgrounds and they seem to be responsible adults. I love that there’s such a large group of people out there willing and able to commit to helping take care of pets when needed!

Rover is easy to book, and I found a great caregiver in Giovanna. Communication was excellent. It enabled me to relax while away.

Over Christmas, my boyfriend & i went to visit his family who we had not seen in a year. The sitters watching our dog called us the second night to tell us they had lost her. It was a painful 2 days of hearing nothing and not knowing where she was. There was a horrible storm passing through our city & all we could think of was her alone in the rain. We were so anxious & upset & had to leave on Christmas Eve night last minute to come home and find our dog. It was the most stressful plane ride of my life not knowing if she was okay. She was still a puppy! Rover was very communicative w us at first and were being helpful. HOWEVER, we spent the night & entire next morning searching for our dog. When we found her, she was dirty & scratched up & bleeding on her face but she was safe with us. Rover didn’t help with a thing once she was found. They offered a $1000 reward for her return but refused to pay for our flights that we took to get home even though we found her once we returned so it was obviously necessary. They took no financial responsibility and the burden fell on us. We didn’t have the money for last minute flights but what were we supposed to do? Finish the 5 days of our trip not knowing where our puppy was when clearly the sitters didn’t get close to finding her in 2 days?? It was absolutely obscene. Contacting rover support & talking to what was clearly someone using AI or just an AI chat bot I don’t even know at this point. We had to cut our trip with our family short, buy plane tickets on Christmas Eve, and spend Christmas day looking for our puppy. We do not regret coming home to find her in the least but this million dollar company couldn’t find the decency to give us money for our plane tickets even though they’ll offer to pay for your dogs cremation if they’re found dead. They also kept giving me the most difficult time about getting her vet bills reimbursed and it took forever to finally receive the check. Even our vet said they were asking for so much. I sent them what they asked for multiple times. Maybe the AI was confused. This app works fine unless you’re in an emergency and then they don’t care about you or your dog. If you can’t afford to cut your trip short & fly back over night just to reunite with your dog, I wouldn’t use this service because that’s the risk you run.

Belle watched our cats for two weeks. She took great care of them and sent us pictures. I would highly recommend Belle to care for your pet. The kitties were happy and contented when we returned.

Our dog boarder that we found on Rover just watched our fur baby for the 1t time. Our little pooch just spent 3 nights with her and seemed to be having a good time. We got lots of pictures from the boarder and seemed like our pooch had a good time there. We are glad we found a more one on one dog sitter. The last place she was at seemed very chaotic!

My review is primarily based on good to great experiences with our pet sitters over the years. The app is also good, but a better booking interface, pet owner dashboard, and more options in the hamburger menu would make it even better!

Review: I am writing this to warn other pet owners: Rover.com’s safety protocols and support are dangerously inadequate. I recently experienced a life-threatening incident where my small dog was found roaming loose in a neighborhood in below-freezing temperatures while under the care of a Rover sitter. I have video proof of my dog alone in the cold, yet the sitter denied the dog had even escaped. Furthermore, the sitter admitted in writing that she stopped walking the dogs for two days because she felt it was “too cold.” The most disappointing part of this ordeal has been Rover’s response. Despite providing timestamped video evidence and the sitter’s own admissions of neglect, Rover’s support team has been completely unresponsive. They failed to even review the attachments I provided and have ignored my suggestion that this sitter be removed from the platform to protect other animals. If you value your pet’s safety, be aware that if something goes wrong, you may be left completely on your own. I am now forced to pursue this through small claims court and local media just to get a response. Avoid this platform if you want actual accountability for your pet's care.

I must frequently travel, often on very short notice, and Rover sitters have made this possible. From house sitting, to caring for my pet in their homes, to drop in visits and walks, the sitters have been great. Rover's website enables you to select for specific needs. Rover also provides insurance, so I feel confident the fur baby is safe.
