I have been extremely pleased with the dog sitters I have found on Rover.com. They have all demonstrated a love of animals, were conscientious in following my instructions.

We left our dog with one of Rover's five-star sitters while we went on vacation. The sitter hadn't mentioned that she had a hole in her fence; the first day we were gone, our dog went through it and was lost. The sitter did nothing. We had to cancel our vacation to come home to look for our pet. Thankfully, we found her. But Rover's response was just "sorry" -- they wouldn't even post my review of the sitter, so the same thing will probably happen again to someone else. Obviously, you can't trust the reviews on their site. Look elsewhere -- through friends, vet offices, etc... -- to find a pet sitter. To Rover's response below: if you're serious about providing responsible care for people's pets, post their reviews of pet sitters.

I have 2 cats. Carl was wonderful!

I really like my dog walker. She communicates very well and is very reliable.

Booked for the weekend on the day before and had multiple available pet sitters. Rover is a worlds better option than boarding.

Submitted my star-rating prematurely without my written review for a sitter; technical platform sucks, couldn't even amend the review within few days after submission; never heard back from tech support. Do your job better! As an engineer I can singly-handle your website stack myself!
