Disaster experience with Rover walker
After a paid meet and greet, I hired a walker via rover for 2 walks a day x 4 days. My tiny dog is on a specific schedule (9am,6pm) and the walker totally negated the schedule and instructions- one time texted that he went to his mother’s birthday party instead. When we came home our darling little dog was a mess, he was limping, he had dried poop crusted under his tail. He didn’t want to eat, his paw pads were inflamed and red with abrasions. The vet who examined him said the injuries were consistent with dragging. The sitter admitted to turning our dogs crate on its side with our dog in it “because I don’t know how to remove a small dog from a crate.” (The crate door is open and the dog goes in there when he wants to chill.) I’m out 300 dollars in services and fees and waiting for rover to approve payment for over 500 dollars in medical bills. I wish rover would be more aggressive about screening and removing bad actors from their site going forward.
