I found a dog sitter near the area I was visiting who took my two dogs in and allowed me to pick them up on a Sunday. The care they gave the dogs was excellent.

Multiple sitter profiles. Clear pricing. Tipping allowed after sessions are completed. Also love that the site conducts a background check for all sitters.

The app is a nightmare
The app is a nightmare. Often I had a hard time finding out which days my preferred sitter was already booked, I had a hard time communicating with her through the app, I had a hard time confirming the dates and times of my booking--and then I got a message from Rover saying I had not confirmed when I had--and I was charged twice for the same booking. Like I said, a nightmare.

No Recourse for Last-Minute Cancelations
My sitter canceled a weekend boarding stay at 8pm--ten hours before a 6am drop-off. As a result, I had to forfeit $700 in plane tickets and I had to miss my cousin's wedding. Completely unacceptable.

As a traveler
As a traveler I wasn't sure I'd be able to find someone to walk my dog on such short notice. What a great service. I will definitely use Rover in the future.
