I have heard nice things about Rover so I went ahead and created an account in hopes of meeting 2-3 people we could rely on for pet sitting while we travel. I have messaged 31 people, met with 7 of them, and 3 of them confirmed they would sit for our dog, only to cancel near last minute...all of them. It seems like this is a whimsical "job" for some people. They'll do it when it suits them and if they cancel last minute, no big deal. If they get a bad review, oh well. If this were a job, they'd be fired. It's very disheartening to hear some people talk about how much they care about animals and they take this seriously, only to cancel. Actions and words aren't lining up at all. I'll be seeking more consistent and honest pet sitters elsewhere.

They made it very easy and affordable to find a sitter in a short amount of time. I also had some issues with redeeming a credit, and after reaching out to their customer service, they were able to honor that and redeem the credit which I was very thankful for. I would definitely recommend Rover to anyone who needs their pet cared for.

I had a tough time navigating the app when I wanted to find her messages Finally, I was home a day and immediately was receiving texts and emails from River asking for a review and a tip for sitter. I tight that was too much too soon. That left a bad taste mouth

This was my first time using Rover. The website was very easy to use! I was happy to find a dog sitter that could take care of my pet with a week out booking. I would definitely use this site again!

Rover is a good resource for pet sitters but when there are issues, do not expect them to do much about it. Also, while they have a lot of people and their calendars show availability, more than half of the ones I reach out to are not available or simply never respond. If you use Rover, you better start looking months in advance and if you have issues, good luck getting any resolution from Rover. I had a house sitter actually decide to leave in the middle of my pet sitting and refused to come back. I had to hire a friend at great expense since I was about 13 hours away on vacation and all Rover did was simply refund my unused booking. Even though I had to pay a lot more to get an emergency sitter there, they refused to do anything about it. The incident was in December 2024 but they do not allow me to go back to that date so I went back as far as they would show.

We are starting our 5-year-old dog out on staying alone by herself and rover, has made it to where either me or my husband doesn't have to quit her job because we can have a person drop in in between so she can have a potty break halfway. Through the time that she's alone, someone to play with even a short little walk. 1 day, we even had to do one really short notice? And we're able to find sitter to drop in on her rover has been wonderful
