I love Rover.com. I’ve used them several times and what I like is that I can check the reviews and what the sitter is qualified for. It shows if they have any animals themselves and how many animals they sit at once. I’ve even met some in person to do a meet and greet before the date. They send pics, texts and videos throughout the stay.

Very convenient and I had piece of mind knowing my dogs would receive good care. We needed day care for them while traveling and this was perfect.

Very easy to find a sitter within a mile and multiple choices in case you need a backup! The only downside of this app is there is no place to just have a meet and greet at your house before you book them, you have to choose a date and time to actually book them to sit your dog/cat in order to contact them to request a meet and greet, but you are also missing out on your selection of a sitter because the date and time you choose will not show all sitters in your area if they aren’t available that one day! ROVER, you need to correct this!!!

I had a great experience using Rover.com! A little background: for several years I used to manage a luxury cat boarding facility and know that many cats don't do well in boarding no matter how fancy it is. So recently, when I needed to go away for a weekend, I brought my cat with me. It was a 7-hour drive each way and a night in a hotel. While she behaved well, the experience was so stressful for her that she stopped eating and required vet care. A couple of weeks later, when I needed to go away again, I got on Rover.com. I found a pet sitter nearby with great references who could stop in twice a day to take care of my girl. Cheyenne, the sitter, was even better than I expected! She understood my cat's needs and took the time to understand her personality. At first I was anxious, but Cheyenne sent regular updates and would reply quickly to every text I sent. When I returned, my cat was happy & healthy and it was obvious that Cheyenne had followed all my instructions. I could not be happier! If you travel, I strongly recommend using Rover rather than boarding your pet. It's affordable and much less stressful to allow them to stay at home where they feel safe and comfortable.
