I have used Rover as both a sitter and a customer and I can not say enough good things about them. Rover is a secure way to handle your dog sitting as it guarantees your payment, no more being ghosted by customers for payment! On the customer side I appreciate the check in process, no more paying for a 30 min service only to see them in and out under 5min. The fees are a high but what can you do.

Appalling experience with Rover over the bank holiday weekend. House sitter lost the keys on day two of our trip. We could not get hold of Rover that day, we used their emergency number and online chat which kept sending us in circles. No one called us back to arrange a locksmith or advise next steps, so we had no choice but to cut our trip short and return home to a very distressed dog who had been left for over 12 hours. I followed up the next few days with Rover and ONE WEEK later still NO REPLY. Therefore Rover emergency support is NON EXISTENT. If we had been abroad and unable to get home quickly our pets would have been in DANGER. As a result we have lost money on our hotel, festival tickets and the money paid to a sitter who did not complete the job. Lesson learnt, there is ZERO benefit in paying extra for a service that you have been misled into thinking will provide back up in the event of an emergency. Total fallacy! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

No show was still paid. Rover knew of the situation days before and offered no solution. Then after, they said they could do anything about it since the day had past. Please read this again and you will find a huge gap in Rover's handling of issues. I can only type to a analogue the 5 things that might be wrong and if it is outside the 5, then too bad. No contact. Not sure if a solution is found inside the 5 or just a rabbit hole of no solution bs

What a great service Rover is. We have used them a couple of times now, once for house sitting and the other for drop-in visits, and both times the experience was excellent. The sitters / visits were clearly great with dogs, and acted like our dog was one of their own. Very handy service to have, and we will continue using them
