Rover Hides Great Sitters and Offers Zero Real Support
I am a 5-star sitter on Rover, but their platform actively penalizes responsible care providers. My profile explicitly states I only board small dogs under 15 lbs for service quality and safety reasons. Yet, Rover allows owners of 70+ lb dogs to send me requests. Because I declined these out-of-preference inquiries, Rover’s algorithm flagged my account with a "low follow-through rate" penalty and completely banned my profile from search results. To make matters worse, their customer service is terrible. It takes days to get a response even for urgent, simple requests like booking extensions or modifications during an active stay. When you finally do reach support, agents just reply with generic canned scripts and admit they cannot fix system errors. Rover penalizes sitters for sticking to safety limits and offers zero real support.
