Chelsea Ukoha is an exceptional lawyer! She is hardworking, prompt, and dedicated to the needs of her clients. It has given me a peace of mind to have someone knowledgeable, professional, kind, and very timely handle contract negotiations for me. Moreover, I appreciate how diligent and patient she is when explaining things to me. I could not have asked for anyone any better.

Chelsea Ukoha was very helpful during the process of navigating my first contract. She was very professional and also caring and approachable. I am thankful to resolve for connecting us. I am so much more confident going into my attending job. Thank you, Chelsea !

Signing up with Resolve was one of the best decisions of my professional career. My Lawyer, Zach Beare, has been fantastic every step of the way. As I began my career 6 months ago, just graduating from residency, I had the misfortune of signing a contract in late 2022 with a company that promised more than they could deliver. In early 2023, the hospital where this group is based lost almost all of its major consulting services and went into a financial downward spiral. I was already locked into this partnership track on this contract. It was about 6 months before I even started working with this group when they called me to advise me that I might want to have a backup plan for other jobs. As time went on, it was apparent the group was hurting for money. It became apparent to me that not only did I feel that this job was a poor fit for me, but I was being severely underpaid despite being one of the more productive physicians. So, I found Zach Beare through Resolve, and we got to work to secure several 1099 contracts at other hospitals early on in this course. Ultimately, after just 6 months of work, the group laid me off, saying they over-hired and the state of the ED was "grim"... this came unexpectedly, and just after I received feedback that "things were going well". This felt like a devastating blow 6 months into my career as a new attending EM physician. Luckily, I had made those backup plans, and I worked closely with Zach to get the best contracts I could get (4 other hospitals to be exact) before this. I read the "writing on the wall", so to speak, and planned accordingly. Zach helped me write a separation agreement and ensure that I was not getting blindsided (again) by this company. Ultimately, with Zach's expertise, I ended up with ideal separation agreement terms between myself and the company. We mutually agreed that this was due to financial reasons outside of our control. I resigned 2 weeks ago, kept my head held high, and did not burn any bridges with the group. I do not owe them any money, and I posted the remainder of my shifts so they could earn more money. I have since made a seamless transition to working multiple 1099 contracts, working fewer total hours per month, but making almost double the money. My first day at the new job last week was amazing. I may be traveling for work, but I am in a much better overall situation now. Stories like mine are not uncommon in the EM community across the nation. Democratic groups are shutting down in some places for reasons outside of our control. It was not the group's fault that our community hospital systems were all competing and losing money and our hospital got the shortest end of the stick. What's important is being prepared for if/when this happens to you. When I thought to myself "Should I really hire a lawyer?" early on in this process, I was reaffirmed almost every day that it was a wise move. This has been a monstrous and complex process that, like most doctors, was never taught in medical school or residency. I think, for most of us, it is easy to be taken advantage of early in our careers for these reasons. Resolve was there for me in residency to help compare contracts and search for jobs, but it is so much more than that. When I needed to quickly find a lawyer, Resolve's premium package was there and I was quickly connected with Zach the next day. We got to talking, and he has become someone that I seek advice from in many professional situations, not just for contract review. He is great at that though. He has helped me review every single contract promptly and returned his edits to me within 48 hours or less each time. It was great how he would respond to an email within minutes and schedule time to talk with me no matter how busy he has been. He went to bat for me to negotiate terms of my contracts, and helped me get an hourly raise at one of my sites. Not only has he provided sound advice through each contract review, but he also helped me navigate the process and my feelings about my employment situation by providing a listening ear when times were becoming difficult at my first job. I appreciate the way he has taken the time to talk things over and never rushed any decision(s). The conversations were always thought-provoking discussions that have helped me get to the situation I am in now: a situation which I am happy with for the time being. I may still be searching for that "dream job" but I trust in the process and know I will get to appreciate multiple different ideal work environments and be able to make an informed decision about my career from an empowered position. I feel confident that I will find that eventual ideal job, especially knowing Zach will be by my side. This service has been worth every penny. 10/10 I would recommend this service and Zach Beare to any physician who can relate to my situation.

Resolve gives you the information you need to make a informed decision on your contract. My lawyer, Chelsea Ukoha, helped me break down he contract section by section and explained all the intricacies of it to me and made meaningful recommendations to help me protect myself in the deal and meet my goals. Easy to contact and communicate with, very knowledgable, overall wonderful experience and worth the $$.

Resolve helped me with my first contract negotiations. The group was very helpful and prompt with answering all of my questions. They reviewed the contract with me and helped me understand the legal terminology. In addition, they made a lot of thoughtful edits and helped me negotiate with my employer on certain points which were important to me. I would not hesitate to recommend Resolve to my colleagues!
