I purchased Nikon D5300 from Tristate by looking only at Reseller ratings, delivery was fast. But when the product arrived, the box was already open and it was not sealed pack and no Nikon USA warranty card inside it. I already smelt something fishy but counseled my heart that the product might be good. Then I took several pictures and compared them with a friends Nikon D3300 and the picture quality was also very very bad, felt like a mobile camera and the portraits were even worse than the iPhone. I immediately decided to return the product. I started checking other website reviews and found out so negative comments on Yelp. I feel they pay reseller ratings and Google to make fake reviews to increase the ratings and fool the public, it's all business but I got fooled by Google for the first time and their ratings are now questionable. I called customer care who started arguing about the quality of camera and all. I remembered my Best Buy camera purchase few weeks back and the returns were so hassle free with full amount. I ultimately requested the refunds at the cost of myself paying the shipping charges for of both ways.

It is about time a simple, user friendly place online exists where the consumer, the customer can get a chance to voice their opinion of retailers. Be it positive or negative I know I will check this site before I make future transactions with retailers. Thank you!

Misformatted my review, accepted my line-breaks but replaced them inline with html sequences, would not let me edit my review to rectify the mess (the edit link appears to me inoperative). So, users will see a misformatted and therefore somewhat hard-to-read review, all one big wad of text. So be it.

They have saved my hundreds of dollars and hours of frustration. I shop around a lot, to find the lowest price, so I often find the scam web sites. They have saved me from getting scammed every time I've check their site first.

This review rating is really great! it helps consumer like me to find out if the status of a company that im going to buy product from.

I have edited my review of Opsgear.com several times and I have not yet seen it included with the other reviews. There is no profanity, etc. so the only thing I can conclude is that, since my review is negative and the company is an 'Elite Merchant', it would affect that status. With the number of complaints against this company with the BBB, I don't trust that all these 5/5 ratings are completely honest.

It's immensely difficult to post a negative review of a merchant on resellerratings.com. After describing in detail clearly dubious practices by a merchant, the merchant reported to ResellerRatings that the review "violated terms," which it didn't. It became blatantly obvious why that merchant has good ratings on the website - they make insistent attempts to have the negative reviews removed, hence inflating their ratings.
