Hi Sherri, Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry to hear you haven’t had a great experience so far. Typically we have great feedback on our steaks, so we are very sorry this didn’t happen for you. We do ask, as stated on the paper we placed inside your box and our website, to please reach out to us anytime there are any issues with any of the products. This is the only way we can understand what you received and to properly resolve a potential problem. If you have any photos you could email us, that would be very helpful. Grass fed, grass finished steaks do have their own challenges when cooking the perfect steak, as they are very different from a grass fed, grain finished steak. Since we don’t feed any grain, consistency is difficult. It’s extremely difficult to make every beef finish exactly the same each time and it will vary from beef to beef due to genetic differences or seasonal differences in grass species they are grazing at the time. So although it’s the healthiest way to eat beef, and even though you may have had grass finished beef before, one grass finished beef may not always be as tender as the next, one may have more fat than another or one may look different than another. We do have prep and cooking tips we like to share with our customers to maximize tenderness. If you have any of those steaks left, please reach out to us and let us know and we will be happy to share those tips with you. Thank you again for giving us a try Sherri. We do our very best to get your order to you on time, but unfortunately, this can happen with our carriers from time to time. This is why we recommend adding the package protection to your orders. This guarantees a full refund or re-shipment in case your products arrive late and spoiled. But we are so glad that everything still arrived in good shape! Each beef we deliver is grass fed and finished from the day it’s born to when it is harvested and this sometimes creates inconsistent sizes in the primal cuts amongst animals and may occasionally affect appearance, weight, thickness of individual steak cuts and tenderness. It’s extremely difficult to make every beef finish exactly the same each time and it will vary from beef to beef due to genetic differences or seasonal differences in grass species they are grazing at the time. But what we can offer consistently is quality and the health benefits of our grass fed and finished beef. We truly do appreciate you giving us a try and supporting regenerative agriculture. We try to help people understand that since we don’t feed any grain, consistency is difficult. Hi Denise! Thank you so much for your feedback! We’re so sorry about the damage to your packaging. Unfortunately, we do realize this happens from time to time and I’m very sorry about that. That’s why Inside your box we place a paper called “Good Things to Know” with some very important information about your products when they arrive. The issue you had is one of them listed on that paper. During the shipping process, our boxes can take quite a beating. The frozen meat moves around, especially as the dry ice starts to dissipate. The packaging can become very hard and brittle at times due to the extreme cold temperatures inside the box and with the extreme movement of the boxes, the packages rub against each other which can cause micro holes, tears or damage to occur. Please know that we do carefully examine each package before placing into a box and would never place a package that has any damage or a broken seal inside the box. This only happens during transit. It is still completely safe to eat and in no way will degrade the taste or quality of the meat and does not need to be discarded. This is why on the “Good Things to Know” paper, we state to make sure and place a plate underneath your meat when thawing. Again, I’m very sorry about that. We don’t like it when this happens either but it’s extremely hard to ship frozen products with the amount of abuse the box goes through before it reaches the customer. Regarding the fat on your steak, as stated on the paper inside your box, we do ask for photos anytime there’s an issue so that we can get a better understanding if what you received was normal for our products or not. We want our customers happy and always try to make sure we take care of you in case we sent something we shouldn’t have.
