The ground beef was really dry. The steaks were tough even though I cooked them to medium rare.

Hi Holly, thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m so sorry our ground beef wasn’t what you were expecting. We typically receive wonderful feedback on it, so we’re very sorry it wasn’t the experience you were hoping for.
Our 90/10 blend is very lean, and because our beef is 100% grass fed and grass finished, its flavor and texture can differ from beef that is grass fed and finished on grain. It can also overcook easily, so using a gentler heat cooking slow and watching the cooking time closely can help keep it tender and juicy. You might be happier with our 80/20 blend.
Regarding your steaks, grass finished steaks do have their challenges when cooking the perfect steak. Since we don’t feed any grain, consistency is difficult. It’s extremely difficult to make every beef finish exactly the same each time and it will vary from beef to beef due to genetic differences or seasonal differences in grass species they are grazing at the time. So although it’s the healthiest way to eat beef, and even though you may have had grass finished beef before, one grass finished beef may not always be as tender as the next. One way that can help maximize the tenderness of our steaks is by following our prep and cooking tips. If you have any steaks left, I would love to share those with you if you’d like to reach out to us at [email protected]
Thank you for giving our small family farms a try! We truly are very grateful. 🙏🏻🥰

Do NOT order from this company
Do NOT order from this company. I added additional food to my order to hit the “free shipping” threshold that the order process was pushing. I was still charged for shipping and when I contacted the company to correct this, they told me that shipping is expensive so they have to charge despite the “free” offer advertised. I politely asked to therefore cancel the order (much of which I didn’t originally want and was just added to earn free shipping). They told me they would cancel but would charge a not-insignificant fee to do so. I fear what else is wrong here - this is not a trustworthy business.i seriously doubt a company that is this dishonest in their marketing and sales is not also dishonest about food quality and origin. Too many good options to take a risk with this company. Stay away.

Hi Hoyt, as stated in our previous emails, while we do offer free shipping for orders over $175, the $14.95 you’re seeing is a surcharge fee. Like we mentioned before, because UPS and FedEx significantly raised our rates in certain areas, including yours, we had to make a decision to either stop shipping to those areas altogether, or continue giving our customers that option that are still interested. But in order to continue, we had no choice but to add a surcharge fee to those areas. I’m really sorry about that. So that customers are not surprised by this charge, we have it clearly stated at the top of our website, our FAQ section and also at checkout before submitting the final payment. When you asked us to cancel your order because of the surcharge fee, we explained to you that our payment processor charges us this cancellation fee for the processing of the original payment and for cancelling. We also have this stated on our website as well. We actually take pride in running our business with honesty and integrity and we’re very sorry you feel that way. We truly do appreciate you giving us a try and wish you the very best. 🙏🏻

Hi Joe, thank you for reaching out and for your feedback. We’re very sorry that the carrier did not deliver your order on time. It’s very frustrating for us as well. We know you have been with us for quite a while, and we are super grateful for your continued support and loyalty.
I see that a member of our team has already been working with you, and that you reached back out after business hours. Someone will follow up with you as soon as possible tomorrow so we can continue working toward a resolution.
I also see that you purchased package protection; however, your most recent email mentioned that the photos needed to file the claim had been deleted. As noted on our website, on the paper included inside each box, and in the email from ShipInsure, photos are required when an issue like this occurs. This documentation is necessary for us to properly verify the condition of the order and submit the claim.
As a small family business, we always appreciate the opportunity to work with our customers and try to make things right before submitting a review like this. Please be patient with us while our team reviews everything and reaches back out to help. We truly appreciate you, Joe, and we will do our very best to get this resolved.🙏🏻

We had an issue with one of our…
We had an issue with one of our packages of roast not being sealed. When we opened the undamaged shipping box, we found one of our roast bags was sliced or split open all the way down one seam or side of the packaging. The packaging did not hold up or stay together like it should have. There were no other issues with any of the other 13-14 bags of meat. We asked and expected no issues with a refund, or credit towards next purchase or replacement of the roast. Instead we got excuses from customer service rep and this being our first order it's not a good look!
Response from repprovisions.comSep 9, 2026
Hi Robert, again we are very sorry for your experience. As I explained in our email communications, we do realize this happens from time to time and I’m very sorry about that. That’s why inside your box we place a paper called “Good Things to Know” with some very important information about your products when they arrive. This is also stated on our website under our FAQ section. The issue you had is one of them listed. During the shipping process, our boxes can take quite a beating. The frozen meat moves around, especially as the dry ice starts to dissipate. The packaging can become very hard and brittle at times due to the extreme cold temperatures inside the box and with the extreme movement of the boxes, the packages rub against each other which can cause micro holes, tears or damage to occur. I explained that we do carefully examine each package before placing into a box and would never place a package that has any damage or a broken seal inside the box. This only happens during transit.
I also explained as stated on our website and on the “Good Things to Know” paper, we require photos whenever there is an issue with a product. The photos allow us to see the condition of the packaging, properly document what occurred, and determine how to proceed with a resolution. This requirement applies whether a customer is requesting a refund or replacement. I can assure you, we thoroughly check each package before placing inside a box. This issue with the packaging is why we inform our customers in several locations that this is a potential problem that can occur on occasion.
As I also mentioned, we offer optional Package Protection during checkout specifically to cover situations involving damage, loss, delays, or spoilage during transit and unfortunately you declined that option. Had it been purchased, this type of shipping-related damage would have been covered under that protection. Because Package Protection was declined and the roast and packaging were discarded before photos were provided, we have no way to verify or document the damage.
Again, we are very sorry this was your first experience with us. It’s definitely not a first experience we want you to have. I also explained to you that we would go ahead and issue a refund and explained if you decide to place another order with us in the future, we cannot guarantee re-shipments or refunds if photos are not provided and package protection is declined.
We do our best to communicate both the photo requirement and the Package Protection option clearly so customers understand what is needed and what coverage is available if a shipping/package issue occurs.
If I may, I’d like to share a little with you about us here at REP since you are new to us. We are not a large, conventional meat operation. We are a small company made up of just a few small family farms, and we also support small, family-owned processors. Every animal and every piece of meat represents a tremendous amount of time, care, and expense. When meat is discarded unnecessarily or we replace a product without being able to document what happened, it is a significant loss for our small company and the family farms behind it. This is one of the reasons our photo requirement and package protection is so important. We may not always be able to provide the factory-like uniformity found in conventional grocery-store meat. Our packaging may occasionally be imperfect, cuts will naturally vary in shape and size, and grass-finished beef will not always have the exact same appearance, flavor, or texture from one animal to the next. What we can provide consistently is high-quality meat from animals that were raised the right way, by farmers who genuinely care for them and the land.
Thank you again for giving us a try Robert. Please know that we are very grateful for you. 🙏🏻

I was out of town on business when my…
I was out of town on business when my order was shipped and delivered. There was no notification when it was being shipped nor when it was being processed. I didn’t know that I could place a hold on it. I most likely won’t order from your company in the future as I don’t feel comfortable with your company.
Response from repprovisions.comSep 8, 2026
Hi Edward, as mentioned in our previous email communications, your order came through on Thursday. As stated on our website, we only ship on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Occasionally, we will ship on Thursdays depending on the area. Your order was on track to ship out on Monday for a Wednesday or Thursday delivery and was delivered on time. We also provided you proof of the emails sent to you when the order was placed, when it was shipped, when it was out for delivery and when it was delivered. Like we mentioned before, if you would have reached out to us before it shipped to let us know you would be out of town and to hold your order, we would have been happy to do so. But unfortunately, you did not reach out to us until the day it was delivered. We had no way of knowing you would not be home. We are a small company and unfortunately, we cannot absorb the cost when a customer is not home to accept the delivery and the meat ruins. We do have this stated on our website as well. As stated in our emails to you, even though we were unable to issue a full refund or re-ship your order, we did offer a 20% discount on a future order if you decide to shop with us again. We are so sorry it had to end this way but we truly do appreciate the support that you have given us and wish you nothing but the best. Thank you again Edward! 🙏🏻

Hi Mary, I see you’ve only placed one order with us. I’m so sorry you did not have a good first experience. Typically we have great feedback so I’m really sorry this didn’t happen for you. Grass fed, grass finished beef does have its own challenges when cooking as it is very different from a grass fed, grain finished. We try to help people understand that since we don’t feed any grain, consistency is difficult. It’s extremely difficult to make every beef finish exactly the same each time and it will vary from beef to beef due to genetic differences or seasonal differences in grass species they are grazing at the time. So although it’s the healthiest way to eat beef, and even though you may have had grass finished beef before, one grass finished beef may not always be as tender as the next and one may have more fat than another. We have some great prep and cooking tips we like to share with our customers if you have any left. Please let us know! We are truly grateful that you decided to give us a try. Thank you again Mary!🙏🏻😊

Not worth it/ Problematic people
Not worth the money. Better choices with better quality products and better customer service available elsewhere.
Response from repprovisions.comJun 4, 2026
Hi Nury, I see you deleted your previous one star review and left another one. Again, we’re sorry for the issues that you had when paying for your orders. I understand that you believed our system placed duplicate orders for you. As explained in our previous email communications, when you placed three separate orders with us, you used Shop Pay as your payment method. Because Shop Pay securely processes the payment information, we do not have access to your credit card details and our system is not capable of placing orders on a customer’s behalf.
We also explained, as stated on our website, any time an order is canceled, our payment processor charges us a $15 fee for processing the original transaction and issuing the cancellation. I see that you did decide to keep your orders, and we are very grateful to you for that. But unfortunately, because you requested that two of your orders be canceled, we would have had to pass along those fees if you decided to cancel.
I’m very sorry for the inconvenience, Nury. We truly do appreciate you giving us a try. 🙏🏻

Customer service people are in denial
Customer service people are in denial, they don’t accept responsibility for anything being wrong with their product. Received multiple busted packages upon arrival, freezer burn on meat—-they said it’s all normal and part of the process! They are hiding behind “you should buy shipping insurance” that’s pitiful! Meat quality is meh 🫤 and nothing special about it to tolerate their lack of accountability for product quality and customer care. I’m one and done 👎
oh and I received a note inside my packaging with what was in my opinion, bad cow humor-completely inappropriate, I did mention it to them but no response.
Response from repprovisions.comMay 28, 2026
Hi Sheron,
Thank you for your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your experience with us, as this is not something we hear often. We sincerely regret that things did not work out as expected for you.
As mentioned in our previous email communications, damage to packaging can unfortunately occur at times during the shipping process. Inside each box, we include a sheet titled “Good Things to Know,” which contains important information about the products upon arrival, including the issue you experienced.
During transit, our boxes can go through significant handling. As the dry ice dissipates, the frozen products naturally shift inside the box. Because the packaging is exposed to extremely cold temperatures, it can become hard and brittle, and with the constant movement during shipping, packages may rub against each other, occasionally causing small tears, pinholes, or minor damage to the outer packaging.
Please know that every package is carefully inspected before being packed, and we would never intentionally ship a product with a broken seal or visible damage. These issues occur during transit and are unfortunately outside of our control. This is also why we recommend placing the meat on a plate or tray while thawing, as noted on the “Good Things to Know” insert included with your order.
Again, we are very sorry this happened. We certainly do not like it either, but shipping frozen perishable products can be challenging given the amount of handling and movement the boxes endure before reaching customers.
Based on the photos you provided, none of the products appeared to show signs of freezer burn. In some cases, small ice crystals can form if a small amount of air reaches the product. True freezer burn generally takes many months to develop. The small amount of ice crystals visible would not affect the quality or taste of the meat.
As we also explained regarding your chicken you thought was freezer burn because it was lighter in color, because our chicken is pasture-raised, natural variations in color can occur from batch to batch. This is actually very common with pasture-raised poultry and is often influenced by factors such as the birds’ diet, activity level, age, breed, and even seasonal pasture changes.
With pasture-raised poultry, more variation is generally expected because the animals are not raised in as standardized an environment as conventional production systems. Consistency is much easier in highly controlled commercial systems where feed and conditions are nearly identical year-round.
Regarding the shipping insurance, this is an option we recently introduced for customers who would like additional protection on their packages. Because we ship perishable products, carriers are often not obligated to reimburse us for losses caused by shipping delays or transit-related damage. As a small family farm, it became very costly for us to continue replacing or refunding orders in these situations, so we added the optional shipping protection to help provide customers with extra coverage if they choose it.
Regarding the joke we sent, we like to send happy notes and fun jokes related to food inside the boxes. If you’re referring to the joke you received, “What do you call a cow with no legs? Ground beef”, most of our customers think it’s pretty funny. Maybe you don’t get it. A cow with no legs would be on the ground, and since it’s a cow, it’s beef. We’re sorry you were offended.
We truly appreciate you giving us a try and are very sorry again that your experience did not meet your expectations. Thank you for giving us a try anyway. 🙏🏻
