READ FINE PRINT. This company advertises free cancellation all over their website and will say your specific rental can be cancelled up to 48hrs in advance for free but it is a LIE! If I look online it says “We give you the following for free: cancellation/amendments” under my booking confirmation but I was charged a $40 cancellation fee. If you pay a deposit upon reservation you do not get the deposit back. They have been such a pain to deal will. I thought it was a good deal but their are plenty of other online car rental brokers out there that provide similar deals with better service. I recommend you do not use their services.

Will not return my deposit. I'm worried their company is insolvent or headed toward bankruptcy. At first I thought this was a great company. I paid $682.93 deposit to rent a vehicle in Costa Rica from Avis for 2 weeks. Trip went well. Returned the vehicle in good condition. Avis charged me only $414! So I waited 15 business days for the $682.93 deposit refund. Nothing. Open a case with Rentalcars.com customer service. They said I need to wait 28 business days because Avis is slow. If no deposit, then open another case and send an E-mail from my credit card company stating that no deposit was returned. I waited 30 business days and E-mailed them copies of my credit card statement (my CC company would not send an E-mail). So I am going to proceed to dispute the charge $682.93 charge with my CC. If that does not work I will file a lawsuit in small claims court.

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with This is my second review about them. I booked a car via website Rentalcars.com and i had so many issues with the company that I rented the car with through Rentalcars.com first issue they promised me to return my deposit back to my bank account but they didn’t. I paid 150€ for the deposit and they told me we will give it back to you after 7 business days and this was a biggest lie. Second issue they kept withdrawing 100€ each month from my credit card without any reason!!!! I tried more than 20 times to solve this issues with Rentalcars.com because my booking was via their website i sent many email without any response and I chatted with many agents via Rentalcars.com website i told they the whole story they just gave me promises that they will solve this problem and they’re liars i spent a month and a half email and chatting with them and they did nothing to me it’s been a month now for the last time I talked to them and what they did nothing just promises. I really want to take a legal action against them.

Shameless, will never use them again. They will not return the cancelation fee .

Vi lejede bil fra SFO til Anaheim (OC). Lejen var 10 dage. Men da vi måtte tage hjem pga corona måtte vi aflevere bilen 4 dage før oprindelig tilbagelevering. Jeg fik af vide af deres danske “agent” at jeg højst sandsynligt nok ville få mine penge tilbage ud fra situationen. Fik så afgørelse i dag, at jeg havde skrevet under på deres betingelser og ikke fik en øre tilbage! Men at jeg var velkommen til at leje hos dem igen og med rabat! Jeg svarede pænt tilbage, at når man var en god kunde og betalte forud at de bondefangede en i denne situation og at jeg ALDRIG ville leje igennem dem igen. Så dårlig kundeservice, når man står midt i en verdenskrise! Hold jer væk herfra!

Just had to cancel a European trip because of the corona virus. Was still charged a cancellation fee, with no ability to contact their customer service--in other words: NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Disgusting customer care. What's the point of using a broker if prices are often higher and there is absolutely ZERO protection for the customer, compared to renting a car directly with the provider? I didn't get the car for problems related to the provider and did not get a refund. I so hope Rentalcars goes out of business and a proper "Airbnb" for car rentals replaces them.

Corona virus has meant all travel and accommodation to fort William in Scotland has closed or stopped service. All hotels and trains have refunded me. Rentalcars.com refuse to refund me a penny. Incredible! You guys are ridiculous.
