I just got back from the one week retreat at Guatemala and am officially obsessed with Remote Year!!! I can't wait to go back and attend future retreats they have. The retreat was planned so well and you can tell the company really cares about the participant's having a seamless experience and walking away as a new and changed person.

I’m so glad that I did the Guatemala retreat. It was the perfect blend of being social, getting in reflection time and being adventurous both with the whole group and also during free time exploring with small groups. I loved the ability to venture off during free time and the schedule that was planned for us was so fun! RY did an amazing job curating - you can tell the team was so thoughtful while planning this experience out. I think what made all of the experiences as amazing as they were was the people. Everyone that attended was so lovely which is a testimate to the program. I feel very lucky to have gotten to be a part of it. Left feeling tired in a good way, inspired and expanded!

Incredible experience in Panajachel, Guatemala. The Selina facilities were excellent for the types of excursions, workshops, yoga sessions we had. Also great for lounging by the pool and hanging out with people. The excursions into different towns were fun, informative and really cool. The retreat strikes a balance with having plenty of stuff to do and things to be a part of with free time to explore. The staff is great, friendly and very professional. I will be doing more retreats in the near future.

Hard to express the journey in words - but this was one of the most beautiful adventures I’ve been apart of. Unique experiences, wonderful group of strangers that I dare say became family, and excellent programming to ensure the time spent is seamless and fulfilling.

Remote Year provides an accessible way to dive into the culture of a city, providing you with everything you need to feel like you can comfortably navigate a new place. The community it provides is invaluable, as well as the endless beautiful connections you will make. The program leaders are wonderful and are there to help at a moment's notice. I cannot recommend the program enough!

If you: 1) Have the ability to work remotely 2) Want to explore a different city and culture 3) Don't want to do it alone 4) Are willing to push yourself out of your comfort zone 5) Want to make some new friends :) Apply to remote year. The 1-month program made it super accessible such that I felt comfortable taking the plunge, and it definitely got me hooked. Looking to do a 4-month trip later this year!

A great platform to work remotely, build a community of new friends, and explore a new culture. Would recommend! My advice to anyone doing it would be to take more than a few days off work - there will be a ton left after a month in a city that you still want to do :) The only con is the value - it is significantly more expensive than it would be to organize the same apartments and activities on your own, but what you pay for is convenience and community.
