I found out that Relaint is not the correct person to report a power outage.
Response from Reliant EnergySep 4, 2026
We appreciate you highlighting this important point, Melissa. We understand that it can sometimes be confusing to know who to contact when a power outage occurs, and we're glad you were able to identify the appropriate channel for reporting the issue. As a retail electricity provider, Reliant manages your electricity account and billing, while power outage reporting and service restoration are handled by the local utility company that maintains the power lines and electrical infrastructure in your area. We understand that this distinction is not always clear, and we appreciate your patience throughout the process. Thank you for choosing Reliant. We value your feedback and are always here to assist with any questions regarding your account, billing, or service. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you and look forward to continuing to meet your energy needs for a long time to come! Have a beautiful day! - MF / Digital Care
