The best in the business. Where I go for all my outdoor needs

On (1/16/2022), around 10:30am, I went to REI to pick up my running shoe (I called 20 mins ahead to make sure is ready). Some guy answered the phone with a lazy, unclear voice, then finally he said that my shoe was ready for pick up. I got there and a red hair girl said that..."It said here that your shoe was picked up". I said, "I just got here". Then she looked again and found my shoe in the back. Does REI has some kind of balance and check a customer picked up his/her item? Or was this guy tried to SCAM me?

Had a staff member, Kelly (Chandler AZ store) spend 2 hours helping my son get mountaineering clothes. If that branch didn't have the item then she wrote down the sku number so I could order it online. She took my son around the store and helped him select items and then patiently waited while he tried things on, sandwiching other customers between. She made it so easy that he was willing to open up about what he needed, and she helped guide his choices. She made the experience so comfortable that he was willing to try clothing on in the changing room! I haven't had such great service in years. And this happened during the nightmare week before Christmas!

I ordered a high dollar gift card through their website two weeks ago. I received one email stating the gift card had been shipped. I called yesterday to check bc they don’t provide tracking. I was assured it would be here today, Tuesday 12/14/2021. I check and guess what, it’s not here. I called again and they tell me two different stories on the ship date. They said well it probably got hung up in the mail bc of the holidays. So they know shipping is tight during the holiday rush so why then do you make a promise on a receive date knowing you can’t fulfill it? I’ll tell you why, GREED and DISHONESTY! Ok.They don’t have a clue where it is. But they say it’s ok they’ll just ship another one. SERIOUSLY??? So two to three days to process the order then another two to three days to receive it by expedite, if I even receive it then. My daughter spends a lot of money there every month. I will do my best to discourage her from ever shopping there again and I damn sure won’t ever buy anything else from them. Shoppers beware 🤔

the credit card is a rip off, i was told i could make any purchase, any amount, and get a $100 GIFT CARD, when i called i was told i needed to make a $1,000 purchase to get a $100 gift card, not what i was told at the store when they opened the card. if you were on facetime i would cut the card in half.

It can be pricy but the products I've bought here have been high-quality. Also, their return policy (1 year for most products, even if used) is great.

I shopped today at Bloomingdales, and Nordstrom to pick out some high fashion beautiful outfits for the holidays. I had my dog as both stores allow dogs; this is one reason I continue to do business with them. Stopped at REI to buy new outdoor coat, boots, hats, gloves etc to wear when I walk my dog in the woods in the winter. I was not in the store one minute when they told me I had to leave because dogs were not allowed... how ironic an outside gear store doesn't allow dogs. By the way, I read at least 4 signs on the way in that stressed how inclusive, open-minded, and nondiscriminatory blah blah blah they were. I will take my money elsewhere.

I got a pair of boots from the UK in four days (free shipping) ordered from a different website. I ordered a pair of pants from REI.COM on 11-16-21 and they still haven’t been delivered. Supposedly they are being delivered by UPS. When I track the order they arrived at the delivery facility 4 days ago and each of those days the order is being “processed for delivery” unfortunately for my grandson they were his Christmas present. Our family has our Christmas on Thanksgiving kinda combination of both. I had to give him money and will have to send the present back if it ever gets here. I should have read these other reviews before I ordered from REI. It’s actually my own fault I actually thought REI was an actual business. And one thing a person would be absolutely sure of is REI will have tons of reasons for my disappointment. Which will be total bologna.
