I was in the store a few weeks ago. There was this woman with long hair that I asked for her help. I was looking for a birthday gift and needed some ideas. This woman was so rude to me and acted like she had no time to help me. Very poor employee for REI. If I was her manager she would not have a job in my store. Customers should not be treated like that.

Very nice store and grrat ambiance but whole things is so so expensive i mean they provide the highest price ever, Store for wealthy people...even a simple probar plant based sold 3$ when they usually almost half of price anywhere else. Honestly go there,take pictures of what you need and find it cheaper elsewhere. Very upset about those crazy price...

With the advent of REI workers liberation, the time has come to directly address those peakbaggers living at REI hq. We solved Eiger. We conquered the Seven while you were still suckling at your mother’s breast. Why do you fear my simple gaze?

The products and stores are great but their online ordering is brutal. They give false promises on availability, constantly change delivery dates and cancel orders when they say they still have the items in stock. Do better!

This company is expensive which is okay, however, they don't provide bags for your purchases. I get being eco friendly and all but there are other options. I fail to believe that carrying $500+ dollars of merchandise through the rain is the only way they can contribute to the environment. Maybe not use as many lights in the store as you have. Or compostable bags, or the boxes used to receive your inventory.

This was my first—and last—time ordering from REI. The overall customer service system is poor, though the individual customer service agents are professional and do their best within the limits of the system. After placing an order, my payment went through and everything seemed fine. However, REI later emailed me requesting I call them to update my payment information. They never called me directly. When I called in, they told me the payment hadn’t gone through—despite my bank clearly showing that it had. I ended up paying again and now have to work with my bank to issue a refund or dispute the original charge. To be fair, when I finally reached a representative by phone, she was polite, professional, and genuinely tried to help. Unfortunately, it’s clear REI does not equip their customer service team with the tools or systems needed to deliver a smooth experience. If you need help with an order, calling is really your only option—and even then, don’t expect the process to be quick or easy.

I'm so disappointed in the decision to cancel all experiences to "focus on retail". It seems REI will sell just about anything but not offer any sort of adventures that truly explore the great outdoors. I've been a member for 30 yrs but this decision changes things for me.

Same as most of the reviews here for customer service: fuggeddabouddit. Took in a pair of socks that should absolutly not have failed no longer than I've had them and no more than I've worn them. Conveniently "...just ourside our window for replacement or credit..." Yeah ... right. DONE with REI!
