I wanted to return a gift for the correct size. The customer service rep could not help me in any way. They do not provide shipping labels. They wanted me to pay for a new order and then said they would "send me a check" when they received it. I am going to have to mail the item back to the person who bought it for me so she can return it to the store where she bought it.

placed an order online and paid with debit card. they debited the total amount, then 5 days later they debited the total amount again because the item shipped, then 2 days later they debitted the total amount again because i picked up th eitem in the store, so i was down 3x the total amount which left my bank account on 0usd. I realized this when i wanted to take a lyft and was rejected. Their answer: it's their normal process, the bank will return my money after 7 days... crazy that they even say this is normal, they left me with no money, still waiting for refund. I would never give card details to rei.com, not safe

The membership is a scam. They markup their inventory and try to give you an unguaranteed 10% off. If you are not a member they treat you with disdain and shame you in front of other customers. I've had several REI brand products fall apart and they wouldn't do anything about it. Try out their products in store and then order them from someone else at better prices. If you want to donate to good causes, use the money you save shopping elseware and pick where your money goes. This company is the absolute worst, no I don't want to be a member of a terrible company that discriminates against "NON MEMBERS"

Love REI it is my goto store for all my bicycle needs either online or in store . The Huntington Beach store is the one I go to for the excellent bike shop.

I see that at least one other former REI customer has already posted a review concerning this. For several years I have been able to use my credit card rewards at REI or request a rebate by check. I requested my 2021 check in March. REI has no record of it. I kept screen shots of the request & have sent them to REI. Weeks later, no help. Done with REI & their credit card.

Placed a purchase through their online system. A couple of days later I went to check up on the order, as my order did not arrive on the estimated date to find that they cancelled my order. This happened twice and on both occasions, I was not notified. They also processed the refunds extremely slowly.

Quality has declined in recent years. I also dont feel they are genuinely inclusive.

I recently bought a tent from REI which I took backpacking and unfortunately the tent didn’t meet expectations. I came back to REI and explained the issue and they happily took back the tent and processed the refund and were super helpful in selecting a new tent. Very professional, very helpful, highly recommended.
