Like most great companies, it all started with an idea. In 1974, Jon and Christel DeHaan set out to add greater value to the timeshare experience when they pioneered the vacation exchange concept. The DeHaans developed a system that allowed owners to exchange time at their home resort for a stay at a different affiliated property—delivering a new level of flexibility and choice to timeshare owners and revolutionizing an industry in the process.Today, RCI remains the leader in vacation exchange, offering the world’s largest vacation exchange network and providing unrivaled products and services to enhance the vacation ownership experience. It’s one of the many reasons why more resorts trust RCI to deliver vacation exchange services to its subscribing members than any other company across the globe

Had it 5 years, and never managed ti use it . tried to get out of contract one month after signing and they refused. $20 grand down drain. There are never any places available where and when we wish to go and very few are pro-pets. Terrible purchase.
Wouldn't even give it one star. Stay away.

Disgusting
Disgusting. Coerced unto signing after being basically held hostage for 5 hours. Git back to the UK and, as is our legal right, asked to withdraw from the contract. Amazingly they can't find our details. Shocking sales tactics, shocking service. They should be ashamed of themselves as should anyone who does business with them

Hi Rowan,
We are sorry to hear that you have been experiencing issues with your withdrawal. As the exchange service provider only, RCI do not sell timeshare and so your request to withdraw will need to be made with the resort developer which you purchased your timeshare with. We will be happy to assist you with this. Please call us on 0845 60 86 380 or email our customer care team at [email protected] with your contact details and we will arrange for someone to call you.
Kind regards,
Your RCI Team

Wish I could give negative stars!
Wish I could give negative stars!
Absolutely shocking treatment of a customer that has paid them so much money over the last 3 years. Overcharged for numerous things and refuse to send pictures of the "damage" to my car...
My car went back on the 1st of February and despite numerous calls and emails, still no resolution and it is Mid-May!!! Poor response from their "customer service" team... wish I never bothered getting a car through them in the first place. Avoid at all costs!!

Hi Josie,
Firstly, we’re sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience. We believe your issue may be related to a car hire reservation booked through our independent travel services provider – RCI Travel. Please call us on 0845 60 86 380 or visit rci.com and use our live chat service to speak with one of our guides and we will endeavor to assist you. We will need your membership ID number so please have this to hand. Alternatively please email us at [email protected].
Warm regards
Your RCI Team

Absolutely diabolical service!
Absolutely diabolical service!! Called in at 9:30am to be put on hold multiple times only to get cut off.
After contacting this company 7 times just to validate my policy is just ridiculous!
Finally getting though to a manager at 11:30pm I was then told my policy had gone up by over £150!!!
DO NOT USE!!!

RCI Cruise "Deal" is not what it seems!
My father-in-law (aged 75), a member of RCI for over 26 years, was coerced into purchasing a "Cruise Deal" during an unsolicited phone call from an RCI Agent back in February 2017.
He was told if he paid £2,100 he would have numerous cruises to choose from, most with "free" upgrades, and nothing more to pay. Cruises offered include Med, Fjord and fly-away destinations - all with ZERO extras to pay apart from Port Taxes and Fees.
Since purchasing the "deal" he has tried on countless occasions to book and all the zero advertised cruises now carry extra charges ranging from £1,000 to £5,000 per person!!!!
During the latest call, a week ago, I acted on his behalf and tried to book a 9 Day Med Cruise with Royal Caribbean, departing in September this year and on his Certificate as a ZERO extra cruise. Low and behold the Agent said it would be an additional £617.00pp! Now, I did a dummy booking direct with Royal Caribbean for the exact same cruise, with the exact same cabin upgrade and the Port Taxes and Fee's came in at £66pp. RCI charging an extra £551 - on a zero advertised cruise!
I have subsequently been emailing their "Customer Services Manager" who is next to useless and has a great way of avoiding the issue of the extra fee's.
My elderly inlaws have clearly been led down a garden path on this deal.
We have demanded a full refund of what they have paid out to date for this as RCI clearly cannot honour what they have promised, yet still state they have not mis-sold in any way!
Has anyone else purchased this "deal" and had the same problems/issues with RCI? Be good to know your thoughts on this unsavoury company and their practices.

They can't get anything right with …
They can't get anything right with bookings. There is soooo much info for them to convey to you that they miss stuff and leave things out and ultimately it just screws up your vacation. Speaking from years of experience

Ditch RCI
RCI has gone steadily down hill over the years as the same time as the price has continually gone up year on year.
With the advent of sites like Booking.com RCI is pretty much redundant now especially as the availability has gone down year on year.
When you add together the yearly fees and the exchange fees its almost the same price as you can find an apartment online but without having to deposit your weeks so I would advise ditching your timeshare and RCI and just go online as there is much more choice at a much lower price.

Service is non-existing
Tried for two month by writing and phone calls to have my booking changed but never received an answer.
Then I used the formal costumer contact form for complains on RCI's web-site. After filling out the form I pressed send - the reply I got was a technical error message!
Avoid RCI and accordingly avoid to buy any timeshare if you rely on a world-wide exchange.
