RCIReviews of rci.com

RCI Turkey is a scam. They take people on a boat ride for 2 hours and badger you and your loved ones to sign a contract with them. They sit and talk and talk and talk until your all tired out and are like just give the damn contact to sign and let me leave!! You literally feel like your being held hostage till you sign. Then they disappear for months then reappear and start calling your phone relentlessly so they can get more money out of you. They literally milk you dry. Im so done with this nonsense and I asked them for a full refund and there like sorry you still owe the company 400 dollars. I don't understand how a company can do this to people. Excuse me but if I have not used your services I demand a full refund. I will sue RCI if I don't get my money back and I will write a horrible review everywhere. $1,600 might not mean anything to some people but it does mean a-lot to me!!

I am so disgusted with the service I received from RCI Concierge Specialist, Edward Cosper. When Edward mistakenly deposited my booked vacation and tried to fix the mistake, he booked me at the wrong resort. When I called to let him know there was another issue he became aggressive, telling me he was a manager, and would not let me talk to someone else. Then he told me he was no longer going to help me because I'm belligerent! (which I assure you I was not) and he said that I should have just given him the time he needs before calling him. Edward then told me to reach out to the dispute department and he hung up on me! I was so stunned and caught off guard. Luckily I spoke to a Kim at RCI who was so pleasant and is attempting to fix his mistake, I'm thankful for her understanding. Hopefully I can get this resolved. Ugh.

Recently contacted RCI as we have weeks expiring at the end of June. The only option offered is to extend the deposit, obviously at great cost. The option for extending 1 month is £22, 3 months at £54, 6 months at £77 or a year for £154, but SAFE travel before the end of July out of the country is not readily available, the UK holiday industry is at a virtual standstill. What has RCI done in the face of Covid 19? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING unless you already have something booked. Have they frozen peoples membership whilst it is basically unusable? NO. Are they going to profit from everyone's inability to book or take a holiday? YES, Big Time! My membership has expired during this lockdown and yet they will seek to penalise me if I renew late! When RCI first launched it was an amazing opportunity to see the world without having to constantly visit home resorts but now they are simply a money-grabbing company which never has any any availability for a decent exchange yet can offer an "Extra" holiday, for which one has to pay, to a resort that has no availability for an EXCHANGE! POOR SHOW RCI!! Its a shame you have such a monopoly.

We have paid RCI over $6000 and we have not used anything! My husband was diagnosed 2 years ago with a lung condition and I told them that we won’t be using any of our FREE vacations, points etc NOTHING! Now with covid19 no one is wanting to travel. They sent our remaining balance to a debt collector and I called them to explain the situation. They said RCI would want roughly $1500 to “get out” of contract. I said NO we aren’t paying another penny. I told them they have $6000 of our money already. This was a scam to begin with because the costs per night through them was the same or MORE than with any travel site online. We were SO gullible that day and not thinking or looking at the fine print. Perhaps they like to “catch” people after a few drinks. Shame on their scams.

I have been trying to work with RCI to get full cancellation for a trip to Orlando in August. The Canada border is closed to the US at least until July 26 th. We can’t travel as my daughter is high risk and so is my husband. We are being told if we cancel by June 21 st we will only loose a portion of our paid trip. However if we don’t cancel on June 21 st.we stand to loose 700.00 approx We are platinum members and yet get this king of treatment. But the best part is the advise you to wait to cancel as so far they keep doing full refunds but only a month at a time right now until July 26 th if your vacation was booked you get full refund. So I have to gamble.... not good considering we can’t travel and we have doctors orders.

I had a holiday booked for four people from 21st -28th March that had been paid for with points and a cash booking fee. As it was in the UK and I live in the UK I did not see any point in protecting the trading power. All four of us are over 70years and my wife has severe asthma. We had no choice but to cancel the holiday even though the resort would not have been able to provide it due to Coronavirus. The asssociate said that the booking fee and trading power would be returned to my account with a reasonable time to reuse it. That did not happen, only the booking fee was returned to my account that they only paid back to me when I told them I would involve the credit card company. When I asked about the trading power I was told it had expired immediately and did I want to pay to extend it. Just after my money when this was a service they had not provided. RCI gave me no opportunity to reuse it. I did contact their customer service on several occasions only to be told "This is not our policy", exactly nothing for the members. Neither my trading power was extended and my Platinum membership expired without being extended. To buy the same holiday in October would cost me £663. This is what I have lost and RCI is not interested in me, just in their profit. I have been an exchange member for 20 years and have not had good service for holidays in the UK during most of that time, as UK availability is saved to be sold for cash rather than exchange. I would not recommend RCI to any of my friends and would happily repeat my very poor experiences.

Never could get a vacation with my "points" when I wanted it, so paid extra for "platinum" membership. Now they have something on "extra" vacations available which I want, but it's only available for CASH, not points. Total BS. Please never invest in an RCI membership. Total waste of money and time.

Can someone please tell me why the RCI website never works? I am a member of Holiday Inn Clubs and access it through that site. Not sure if it is the integration or what as this has been an issue for years. I can't go directly to the site to book a place since it would not have my points on that site. Sometimes you can search and look at the properties and sometimes you can't click on the dates or pictures. I have called and they continue to say it is working fine. They said don't use Chrome and use Internet Explorer. I told them I use Internet Explorer and this issue has existed for over 10 years. The web search has gotten a little bit better over the years but the website has major issues.
