About RCI

Like most great companies, it all started with an idea. In 1974, Jon and Christel DeHaan set out to add greater value to the timeshare experience when they pioneered the vacation exchange concept. The DeHaans developed a system that allowed owners to exchange time at their home resort for a stay at a different affiliated property—delivering a new level of flexibility and choice to timeshare owners and revolutionizing an industry in the process.Today, RCI remains the leader in vacation exchange, offering the world’s largest vacation exchange network and providing unrivaled products and services to enhance the vacation ownership experience. It’s one of the many reasons why more resorts trust RCI to deliver vacation exchange services to its subscribing members than any other company across the globe

Per me è un no.

Worst company ever
Worst company ever. Run away. You can find better deals shopping around yourself. Money scam.

I have just flown from the UK to…
I have just flown from the UK to Jamaica only to find out my booking via RCI was not paid. It is Saturday evening and I had to pay the whole bill on my credit card. Furious!

27 years loyalty GONE!!!
I've been with RCI since 1994 and enjoyed many wonderful vacations. This week, after paying my maintenance fees, I tried to book my home week (18) vacation at Massanutten Regal Vistas. RCI informed me that since I had switched to points, I needed a 13-month lead time to book my paid for home resort. I do not recall the salesperson pointing this out and I haven't had any problem booking with points before. At 80 years of age, it's time to cut my losses and get out of the timeshare rat race, I can't honestly call it a business.
Response from RCIJan 25, 2022
Hi Robert. Firstly, thank you for being a loyal RCI member. We are sorry to hear about the confusion in regards to your new points ownership. Yes, it is true that your home week must now be booked 12 to 13 months in advance in order to guarantee it for yourself. Otherwise, your RCI account will be allotted points to use for a different booking. We are sorry to hear this was not shared with you by the Massanutten team at the point of sale. If you require any further clarification or assistance with your next vacation, please feel free to reach out to us at 1-800-338-7777.

What has happened to RCI
What has happened to RCI? We have been members for many ...many years. It seems they now have more 3 night vacations than one week. I guess they are owned by Wyndam now and just throw in the hotels to fill up. We have one year of membership remaining and then we are done. and RCI please don't tell me the resorts are full. I know that to be a lie. 19 out of 24 from my search....hotels!

I was considering becoming an RCI…
I was considering becoming an RCI member. After reading the reviews I believe it is best to AVOID RCI. It seems like they have become a money hungry charge for everything scam. It's probably better and cheaper to just book a vacation or trade weeks privately.
Response from RCIJan 25, 2022
Thank you for sharing your comments and concerns about becoming an RCI member. It is important to note that RCI does not sell timeshares. RCI simply assists owners exchange their weeks with other owners. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us.
