I have owned a week at Los Olas, Satellite Beach, Fl for over 40 years. Ocassionaly I go in & have a paper notarized. I have been doing this for a long time and it never bothers anyone. A new front desk manager got annoyed and had her Manager Christine Nolan call me. This person blasted me for having the nerve to ask them to notarize a paper. She was yelling at me and the rudest I have ever seen! I will never go back to Los Olas again. I will be dropping my week there. I don’t want to be around rude obnoxious people!!

I have been a member of RCI for 20+ years and used to love them. Now, I am finding it impossible to find an exchange that is not an exchange plus in the areas I want to travel. It seems 90% of the properties I search I am going to be hit with a surcharge. I already pay close to $1000 for my week at my timeshare. In the past my highly desirable GOLD CROWN property afforded me the opportunity to bank my points and exchange them for other great properties. This is no longer the norm. Sure, there are a few properties but not the majority. Why would I own a timeshare and then have to pay $599,$899 even $999+ more plus 50,000+ points to swap? I have looked up some of these properties and they are actually cheaper to book outside of RCI and the timeshare industry. I am looking to sell or walk away from my wonderful home property because I can't go where I want to go without shelling out more money. It is bad enough to have to pay for a swap fee, that increasingly goes up and a fee to bank my unused points for another year, then I get hit more and more fees. If I want to share my points with family, I pay a gift certificate fee. Ridiculous. When Covid hit we had to bank all our points and could not travel for two years, I had to pay to extend them and now will lose them because I cannot extend again (and would have to pay more even if I could extend them). So this a no win situation. Shame on you RCI. You were a leader in the field and now you are no longer trusted or valued. I feel I have finally been duped. Shame on you, shame on me.

This is supposed to be a gold crown RCI resort. I was able to get a studio in April and the picture that was submitted had a balcony and when I arrived there was no balcony the studio was in very poor shape there was not one nice welcoming feature there the windows were filthy inside and out and looks like they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. I understood from Club Regina that RCI is very low with their club and so therefore even though it’s “a gold crown “ they do not get much preference. I would never go back to club Regina under any circumstances as it definitely is not gold club not even a silver club rating. RCI should remover remove club Regina from a gold crown rating. The resort itself is very well-maintained and the restaurants overlooking the ocean are quite good and food is reasonable there is a lot of walking uphill and downhill although you can use their golf carts. It is an aging resort and needs an upgrade in all the rooms

They are fraud

We have been with RCI for about 15 years. We have only used them to book vacations a couple of times because it is so hard to book ANYTHING! We are Platinum members so we are supposed to be first in line for upgrades etc. When we have tried to book it seems there is never anything available and if there is anything it is not updated or in good condition. I won’t even stay at a silver property anymore because they have gone downhill and no one holds them to any standard at all. My family has been in the hotel business for years and in order to keep your Flagship you are required to update your property. If you do not you lose your Flagship. RCI, is all over the board and there is no quality control of these properties. If we didn’t have so many unused weeks we would have dropped them a long time ago!! As it stands we may just have to lose all the money we have spent in fees because we are afraid to take the risk of going to one of the properties and being stuck with terrible accommodations. We are always told because our our Platinum status they will put us in for an upgrade….we have never been upgraded! They have got to address the quality control issues of their properties!

I wish there is a negative star to chose to review RCI. They are really the worst travel company! My nightmare started after brought 3 air tickets through RCI. RCI told me when we bought air tickets from them we must buy a vacation package $4000 which including 2 weekly resorts and 2 cruise trips that can be used within 2 years. Sound a good deal Right ? After 1st month $200 installation they had enough staffs to call me every week and asked me to pay off $4000 early. When we came back to book vacations. We found most of resorts charge extra money that close to the price we book from Costco travel or other travel agencies. Where is $4000 value ? Also we find lots of places we like to go they are not available from this package. We have to pay extra $100 in front if we want have flexibility to change booking date once. For 2 included cruise trips we booked two cabins of Norwegian Copenhagen in May 27 of 2022 with extra money $3185 + $250 deposit per each cabin. We had paid $500 deposit last year and gave them our credit card number. They told us final payment will be 1/31/22. In Feb we found one cabin of our upcoming trip was disappear from Norwegian's website even we had paid $948 x 2 of shore excursion online on Norwegian website. After contact Norwegian we were told this cabin was cancelled by RCI. I can't cancel or change of our 2nd cabin from Norwegian because I have to deal with RCI. After we check credit card statement we found RCI only charged one cabin $3185 without notifying us. No refund, no call, nothing !!! From 02/02/22 I started calling RCI almost everyday trying to solve this issue. They put me on hold at least 3-5 hrs and I had to give up repeatedly. When I finally talked to a person and he said he does not working in cruise department and asked me to call early 9 am when their office just open. Today I took a whole day off and start to call at 9 am. I got first man answered at 11:30 am "hello" then he hang up. I called again and get 2nd answer about 1:30 pm and finished talk about 3:30 pm. He told me the canceled 1st cabin could not be recovered. They will refund $450 (should be $500) deposit and $948 shore excursion of this cabin. For 2nd cabin we paid extra $3185 cruise cost + $948 shore excursion total $4133. Since RCI messed up our 1st cabin and the war in east Europe, now we want to cancel or postponed this trip. He told me no matter we cancel or change the date, we have to pay penalty $1435 because the cancellation today is 70 days from the trip day on 5/27/22 (> 90 days for free cancellation). He will refund me $2200 total for 2nd cabin. The refund actually should be $2698 and I asked him why missing $598 ? He said that was Norwegian gave back. I asked him to do this simple math $4133-$1435=$2698. He hang up to me with no explanation. I called Norwegian and was told my 2nd cabin was canceled by RCI today and the penalty would be $1435. Norwegian staff said I have to contact RCI for why the refund is not correct. You will see the $4000 package is totally a trick! It trapped our more and more money. RCI was not sure if they still owe me 2 cruise trips after I cancel this 2 cabins. He said he doesn't know and I have to call a different department. Now I even can't get back my extra paid money. I tried everyday to cancel or postponed this trip before 2/27/22 which was > 90 days to qualify free cancellation but I could not get hold of RCI. It is really their fault for this $1435 late cancellation penalty, plus $650 shortage with no explanation. My nightmare with RCI will continue because I nee to get hold of them for explanation. They will put me on hold for hours again with music ...I lost more than $4000. Hope this message alert you stay away from RCI to avoid nightmare I have.

Their trip availability is woefully inadequate. They also have a nested fee schedule so that you pay all along, and when you go to reserve a place, they ding you again. Extremely disappointed in product and price.
