I have been a RCI member for over 30 years. Originally we had weeks and could exchange without any problems. However over the past 10 years things are not as it should be. We have points now and have tried to to book various places in Spain, North America & Caribbean only to find limited weeks available. However, as most of these resorts are classed as Hotels too, I checked through Booking .Com and found available accommodation for the dates we required. Why is this so? Having a Timeshare in the beginning was lucrative and giving you bargaining power to book anywhere at anytime at a drop of a hat. What is the point in having a timeshare if you have to book 2 years in advance. Quote:- As an RCI Points Subscribing Member, you can exchange your Points for your choice of one to 21-night stays at 4,200+ affiliated properties around the world.

Hi Nigel, we're sorry to hear of your frustration with our exchange program. Our inventory is based on what other members deposit with us. Many of our members want to travel now that the Covid crisis has calmed down. If you want a resort/area/date that is in high demand, your best bet is to start an ongoing search. If we can help you with that, please email us at [email protected] with where/when you wish to go and be sure to include your membership number. Kind Regards, Your RCI Travel Guide
