Bought the Aron Living solid wood coffee table (Lot 239). Listing and photos showed no damage and it was sold boxed, so inspection wasn’t possible until I got home. One leg was broken. Seller offered a full refund only if I returned it, which required a 4-hour round trip. No partial refund option. Table otherwise looks nice and was a good price, but the undisclosed damage and difficult return made the experience frustrating.

Thank you for the feedback. We’re sorry the condition of the coffee table did not match what you expected from the Rasmus Auctions listing. Accurate descriptions and photos are an important part of creating a transparent online auction experience, and we understand the frustration of discovering damage only after getting the item home.
We’re glad our team was able to offer a full refund, but we also understand that returning the item would require a significant drive on your part. We appreciate you bringing both the listing concern and the inconvenience to our attention, and we’ll use your feedback as we continue working to improve the accuracy and consistency of our auction listings.

Strict about pickup times and help
Strict about pickup times and help, or lack thereof. Confusing messaging sent to me that “assistance will be provided at the pickup location” and when my help wasn’t able to make it, several Rasmus employees were not permitted to help and just sat scrolling on their phones. They have no compassion for helping somebody in a bind and their pickup hours were during the workday, 9-3 - you get one shot at getting your stuff from a place that has probably had this stuff sitting there for a month. Overall disappointing in their lack of giving a shit.

Paul, thank you for the feedback. We’re sorry this pickup experience was frustrating and that our communication around assistance at the site was not clear.
At Rasmus Auctions, buyers are responsible for bringing the labor, equipment, and transportation needed to remove their items. While our team is always happy to help direct buyers, answer questions, and coordinate the pickup process, they are not permitted to physically load items due to safety and liability requirements. We understand how disappointing that can be when plans change at the last minute, and we appreciate you calling out the confusion so we can make our pickup instructions clearer going forward.

Valuable losses weigh in
2 stars at best because I regularly conducted business with Rasmas.com. I have happily recommended their auction site to my family & friends. Therefore, I am appalled beyond belief by what I experienced this March 2022.
During pick-up Rasmus’ Director of Communications,
Ms.Kathleen Rodimak,
was horribly unprofessional & condescending. The claims that she ‘emailed three times’ that $7.42 was unpaid was harsh & extreme; claiming that because I did not respond immediately I was told ‘we are done’ & “We no longer want your business.”
I am in utter disbelief that anyone holding a communication position, for such a reputable company, would abuse power in this way. Unfortunately, this may cost Rasmus. Companies must not accept counter productive behavior of any employees or tolerate irrationality driven by bias & internal incompetence.
The erosion of a once highly regarded business relationship is disheartening. This oversight brilliantly spotlights the grave importance in recognizing the value of customer feedback & the deep impact of a failure to do so will ultimately determine that company’s worthiness.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. I want to start by saying how genuinely disappointed we are to hear about your experience, especially given your long history with Rasmus and the fact that you’ve recommended us to friends and family. That trust matters to us, and it’s clear we fell short here.
What you described is not the experience we aim to deliver, and I’m sorry for how the interaction made you feel. Regardless of the amount in question, communication should always be professional, respectful, and solutions-oriented. When that doesn’t happen, it undermines the relationship and that’s on us to address.
We take feedback like this seriously. It’s important for us to review situations where our process or tone misses the mark so we can improve how we communicate and how we resolve issues moving forward. Your perspective is valuable, and it helps us do better.
If you’re open to it, we would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this further and see if there’s a way to make things right. You can reach us directly at [email protected].
Again, thank you for your past support and for speaking up. We’re sorry this experience led to such disappointment, and we’re committed to learning from it.
