Proper Cloth takes customer service seriously. The website works wonderfully for picking and customizing a shirt. The smart sizes were very helpful in getting the first shirt just about right. The ordering process was very transparent, and let me know how long I had to change the order before it started to be made. After that, the shipping was also transparent and fast. Finally, I took advantage of the Fit Advice Request to get more specific sizing recommendations, and their response was prompt, specific, and professional. They were also able to advise me on transferring the sizes to other styles. The remake went as smoothly as the first, and the shirt fit even better with the revised sizes. I've already bought and received a second shirt, with plans to buy more. Thanks so much, Proper Cloth!

I’ve ordered from Proper Cloth intermittently over the years. Unfortunately, I’ve found that sizing is somewhat inconsistent from order to order (particularly after 1-2 washes) which is inconvenient for MTM garments like this. I’m also not a huge fan of their recent collar adjustments (the “collar roll” doesn’t look so great on a spread collar dress shirt IMO). However, I would say that their service has always been excellent - particularly at the NY showroom. Might be a good option if you’re not too particular about fit and just want a MTM shirting experience.

I am somewhat perplexed by the negative reviews on this TrustPilot site. My own experience is 180 degrees from the sub-standard comments and reviews listed. What a fabulous Customer Experience so far with Proper Cloth, at every step of the way. I used to religiously order high quality all-cotton no-iron business shirts from Orvis, and did so for well over a decade. When the Covid period hit, they dropped all of their higher-quality, business appropriate all-cotton, wrinkle-free shirt lines for their older, more traditional customers like me. I then tried Nordstrom’s, yet was quite disappointed by their shifts in quality, price/value, selection and fit. I tried Proper Cloth a little less than a month ago now, and I am blown away by all aspects of their product quality, price/value, styles & fabrics selection, exceptionally tailored fit, timely turnaround on orders, superb packaging of delivered products, and their extremely personable and responsive customer service. I have, in the last 4 weeks, ordered and promptly received eight new shirts from Proper Cloth. My wife raves about the look, quality and fit of all my new shirts. I have, miraculously, discovered a worthy company for all my shirt needs for the rest of my life. The Proper Cloth Business and Service Model works spectacularly for me, as of this moment in time.

Ordered my first ever tailored shirt from Proper Cloth on 26th Sept and it arrived on the 9th Oct to the UK. Very happy with the colour, fit (besides the collar being a little too tight - I am resizing for free via their website), and overall feel of the garment. I don't understand the super-negative reviews on here. My take is, for £100, this shirt is excellent. I have a number of £300 Saville Row tailored shirts - and Proper Cloth's £109 version stands strong next to those. Haven't had any wears beyond 'try on' for it yet - but will amend this review if things get better/worse after time and the replacement shirt. Update: Remake just as good. Couldn't be happier.

My shirt unraveled at the seem after wearing it only a few dozen times. Proper Cloth refused to mend or replace the shirt. I expect a shirt that I pay over $100 and wear perhaps a dozen times a year to last more than a 18 months.

I have nothing but praise for Proper Cloth. I discovered them in 2017 and buy all my shirts from them now. They fit much better than anything off the rack. I did not even realize how badly fitted my off the rack shirts were until I started wearing Proper Cloth shirts. The shirts are high quality; the service has been fine so far, I had to return a couple shirts because I ordered them with the wrong collar and they took them back without a hitch. I have no complaints at all. Their website is an absolute blast to use as you create your own shirt. I am slightly addicted and buying too many shirts.
