Ordered 2 customs shirts for approximately $200 a piece that came in a 12×12 box like amazon printer paper. It could've not been more wrinkled. Looks like a camel chewed it for 24 hours before they decided to ship it. Will not be ordering again!! Do better

They dont honor their gift cards after a few years. Beware! Scummy business practice.

Proper cloth used to make custom one off shirts - the customer chooses fabric and buttons. Recently they’ve started replacing the studs on the tuxedo shirts with cheap plastic non matching studs. At first they’d send replacement buttons. Now they just say that the product has changed. Yet they still offer button choice on the site. Davan the customer service manager was super unhelpful, saying basically if you don’t like it don’t be a customer. Seems like cost saving has killed another quality experience. Steer clear.

I’ve had multiple experiences with Proper Cloth, and unfortunately customer service has declined meaningfully. Sales representatives came across as moody and unfriendly when I raised a legitimate issue, and the overall tone felt defensive rather than solution-oriented. A significant problem with my order — one that disrupted a broader wardrobe plan — was met with a $35 store credit, which felt entirely disproportionate given the price point and the inconvenience caused. For a brand that positions itself as premium and relationship-driven, the lack of ownership and the token resolution were disappointing. The issue wasn’t just a single item; it was the failure to acknowledge the downstream impact and take responsibility in a meaningful way. Customer service does not match the premium pricing or expectations. I would hesitate to rely on Proper Cloth for anything beyond very simple, non-time-sensitive orders.

I ordered shirts from Proper Cloth for years. This summer I ordered shorts. I thought there would not be an issue with ordering full pants. I was wrong. Proper Cloth is great for shirts but poorly prepared for re-measurements with pants. I used their online tool to select my fit for chino pants. The pants I got were too short. I had them professionally altered to lower the hem. The pants were still too short. I contacted Proper Cloth by signing into my account. I submitted three photos to them of me in pants and waited. Proper Cloth had the nerve to send me an email on October 24th, 2025 asking for how my refit went. This is the email content: "How would you rate the exchange you had with Proper Cloth? Please take one minute to provide feedback on Proper Cloth's handling of the exchange. Thanks in advance — Proper Cloth values your feedback!   1 2 3 4 5 Very dissatisfied Very satisfied" When I signed in today. There is indication that I sent a request for a refit, but the above email shows I had to, so what is going on with Proper Cloth? The email is proof the refit was sent. Proper Cloth neither contacted me for a refit nor did they follow through on their inquiry. All they want is a positive review. Well, I am giving them what they deserve. Proper Cloth is not an efficiently run clothing line. The problem one encounters with shirts is not the same for pants or jackets or vests better known as gilets. If you buy a shirt from Proper Cloth. You will have a better experience, but if you purchase pants, a suit or any garment below the waist. You will be deeply, deeply disappointed like me. I can buy any pair of pants I want. I don't need Proper Cloth's chinos. Brooks Brothers have a similar type chino, and then there is the old tried and true Banana Republic and JCrew. At least you get better customer service from Brooks Brothers, Banana Republic or JCrew and not the ill treated customer service that Proper Cloth offers. I repeat! Do not order pants from Proper Cloth.

I’ve ordered about 40 shirts from PC over the last 5+ years. I’ve generally had a good experience, although a few shirts of a specific fabric (Japanese performance knit) have not lasted beyond a few washes. I raised with PC customer service but they have no desire to engage. Hence 1 star review and ending my relationship with this brand.

sizes run smaller that normal and then the solutions they offer is for you to send pictures just to tell you what you already know. I have many other pants of same size and they all fit well, and these =of same size are way tight. that is all. their answer: find a way to make them wider...duh!

Ordered 2 shirts to test quality and service - while both shirts arrived nicely presented in the given time frame, one fit perfectly, but the other didn't (probably because of a different fabric). No dramas I thought - I can just use their easy return/refund service. I got a response within 48h to my initial request, however, since I live in Australia, there was no return label enclosed in the initial order, so they said they will send via email. This is now over a week ago and despite several follow-up emails, I have just been ghosted. Is this a scam?
