Don't do it!
This course was a huge disappointment and waste of money. I completed the course and passed the exam a year ago. Despite my diligence I haven't been able to find any work related to proofreading and editing. I've lost jobs to other less qualified people because no one cares that I have a certification, they're looking for a bargain. Don't even get me started on the Facebook group. If I wanted drama like that I would go back to high school. Overall, I highly regret my decision to take this course and I wish I hadn't wasted my time and money. Also the company offered me a $10 Starbucks gift card for a review, if I had a "positive experience."

Hi, Laura! Thank you for leaving a review and giving us the opportunity to respond publicly. Did you get my email inviting you to hop on Zoom with me to talk about your marketing efforts? I'd love to be able to help you! Other students have had great results with the course. Also, since the last time you logged in more than a year ago, the course has expanded by 22%. Your enrollment includes lifetime access to all of those updates at no extra cost. If you'll respond to that email and link me to your website, LinkedIn page, resume, or any other marketing materials you have, I'll look at them and give you feedback on those as well. Lastly, one of your fellow students -- who took the course last summer as well -- followed our advice with diligence and is now fully booked as a proofreader. Her name is Elizabeth Hudgins. Elizabeth posted in the Facebook group on August 10, 2021, with the following encouragement: "Just some encouragement for new (or not so new) grads as it relates to landing jobs. I’m at the one year mark 🎉 since graduating the course and about ten months since really looking/marketing myself. And I did it! I’ve reached my hrs/week goal in recurring clientele (which for me looks like between 25-30 hrs). If I can get here through three almost-moves, one actual move to a new city right before the birth of our second child, PPD, at least two hurricanes, the flu, COVID, and life in general while being a full-time stay-at-home mom… I promise, you can do it too." You can also find a candid video review from Elizabeth on YouTube. I linked that to you in the email I sent you. Here's what she said in her video regarding how the course helps you find clients: "There is no hand-holding. And I don't mean that in a bad way; there are all of the tools that you need to succeed, but it prepares you for the real world of having to go out and get what you want, you know? Clients don't just fall into your lap, and it gave me all the tools that I needed to go pursue and be confident in pursuing work once I graduated and it was -- I followed the advice of some people in the grad group as well and treated it like it was my job to do that until I got to where I wanted to be." I hope you find her advice helpful and again, you're welcome to respond to my email for extra support. Warmly, Caitlin Pyle Founder, Proofread Anywhere
