Poor Service Money Grab
Frontdoor Pro is a genuinely bad service. I'd be willing to say they make their money on service calls that don't transpire. Why would $79 for a 10 minute trip be a bad business model anyway? It sure adds up. Here is the premise. I called them to explain my issue with my clothes washer. There was an odor coming from the unit. I read them my serial number and explained my issue and they assured me there was a filter they could service as well as a hose. Awesome! Let's get it done. They said there would be a $79 diagnostic fee if I don't move forward with the repair. I didn't really care because I had every intention to get the unit serviced. When their tech arrived he literally said there is nothing he can do for this unit, it isn't serviceable. Not what I was told over the phone. He shrugged his shoulders and said he can't do anything for me but I owe him a trip fee of $79. I told him no thanks. I called for service. I was told you could perform a service and you're telling me you can't. I explained to him the issue and he took some notes so he could go back to the car and log that he did some sort of 'diagnostic' even though he just copied exactly what I told him on his report. Very frustrating. Did nothing for me and they are still harassing me for $79. At this point I won't use them ever again and I am spreading the word about their poor business practice. If they came and actually diagnosed an issue and I declined the repair, I'd be happy to pay. But that's not what happened. They said they could over the phone and then within 2 minutes of arrival they said I am out of luck, but pay me $79. Get out of here.
