Falklands, South Georgia, Antarctic Peninsula
My cruise, Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctic Peninsula, 05 - 25 Jan 2019. I made my reservation direct with the Poseidon website. I cannot fault the service I received. Excellent and timely communication and comprehensive information concerning the trip. The pre trip hotel was excellent. I was a solo traveler and had booked a three berth cabin. I shared my hotel room with my cabin mates. Embarkation was seamless and the first period on board spent meeting the expedition team, receiving gear, trip briefing and emergency procedures. The cruise was marvelous and the expedition team amazing. Briefings were held everyday to keep us informed of the coming program. The team were very approachable and always ready to share their knowledge both on shore and during our time at sea. There were informative lectures, practical tuition and plenty of opportunity for informal discussion with the team. The Captain and the Expedition Leader continuously modified our itinerary to meet the weather and sea conditions and as a result we were able to achieve 100% of our program, many shore excursions, amazing scenery and wildlife encounters. The hospitality staff were faultless, everything concerning the hospitality aspect of the trip exceeded my expectations including the food. The meals were excellent. One of the reasons I chose Poseidon was because of the small number of passengers which enabled us all to fully partake in and enjoy all all the activities. My highlights, the scenery and wildlife of South Georgia, and Antarctica and Humpback whales. The trip exceeded my expectations and was immensely enjoyable.
