Unfair Billing Practices and Poor Customer Service
I had a terrible experience with PlushCare regarding their billing practices. They incorrectly coded my wife’s visit, resulting in her being charged significantly more than a cash-paying patient. When we reached out for a fair resolution, they refused to correct their mistake, leaving us stuck with an unfairly high bill. Their customer service was unhelpful and dismissive, showing no willingness to resolve the issue. I would not recommend this service to anyone—be cautious, especially when it comes to billing!

I accidentally scheduled two appointments
I accidentally scheduled two appointments and was told that the second would be refunded back to me from February 11, 2025 and it's now February 28, 2025 and still no refund. They told me to call my bank even though there wasn't any refund showing on my back account. So I'm starting to think that this is all a scam, as I will never use this again, as long as I live.

SCAM
These people have been charging me $20/ month which apparently gets you nothing as they continue to set appointments that the doc doesn’t show up to. This has happened more than once.
I think this is a fraudulent operation.

Plushcare "Free Preventative" Is a Big Scam
Plushcare "Free Preventative" is a big scam!!! DO NOT BE FOOLED. I am a level-headed, mature, professional University of California retiree spouse. UC retirees are all siphoned through a company called Accolade, Accolade contracts with Plushcare to provide "FREE PREVENTATIVE" virtual care. Don't be fooled. Plushcare "doctors" don't have phone numbers or addresses. I had a "free preventative," and the "doctor" (I cannot even verify his (Gregory Sharp) license because he lists his office street address and phone at Plushcare, and Plushcare claims he has no office there) ordered standard standard-lab-tests-for-a-physical. Labcorb warned me the "doctor" coded the labs for "treating," and I would be out-of-pocket for the ENTIRE BILL. The "doctor" failed to give ANY contact information in the lab order (I am sure this is a Medical Board violation; lab companies must be able to contact doctors who order labs). Labcorb drew the blood, but told me to go home and contact the doctor, so the codes could be changed. I thought it would be easy. THAT WAS 2024 OCTOBER 17. No response for FOUR MONTHS! I was forced to call every Gregory Sharp, MD in the entire USA that I could find -- every single Gregory Sharp, MD, denied being the doctor who conducted the physical. One suspicious office told me that, of course they could not have conducted the appointment, because they are not licensed in TX. I thought it was a strange response, because they seemed to be avoiding the issue of whether they worked for Plushcare. I was forced to then call Plushcare and Accolade (10 CALLS, over four months, with each call taking about an hour). I finally got a response today (2025 FEBRUARY 25) refusing to correct the codes. Plushcare claims the doctor talked to me about an UNIDENTIFIED SOMETHING and that makes the standard-lab-tests-for-a-physical "Treating." Absurd. Insurance fraud. In other words, Accolade and Plushcare do not offer free preventative care. Plushcare advertises "Free Preventative" to lure customers, scam doctors with no offices and perhaps no licenses ask questions so they can code the appointment as "Treating," labs questioning the orders have no way of contacting the "doctor," patients out-of-pocket the entire lab bill, Plushcare wears out anyone who complains-appeals, and Plushcare-Accolade get rich. I am filing complaints with the CA and TX medical boards and the CA and TX insurance commissioners and will update.

Buyer please beware!
I’ve tried to be seen three times so far. The first Dr was terribly rude and wouldn’t allow me to ask any questions. She refunded and disconnected. I’m sincerely a nice person. Boy did she wake up on the wrong side of the bed. The second person never showed up. And the third appointment customer service set up the appointment with the first Dr who hung up on me and she canceled before I could see her. I’m still in pain and currently in route to my second job. I needed this appointment. Go elsewhere. The service is terrible.

No Prescriptions = Huge NO
This sounds like it “might” be good for people who live a mobile lifestyle and does not have access to a typical physician.
With that said, here are my biggest problems with PlushCare and why I will not be using them.
1. By far the #1 reason is they will NOT give you a prescription that you can take to the pharmacy of your choosing. You can only use the pharmacy they send you to, which the Dr said “it’s been approved by us”, which actually means “we make money from sending you there”….I can’t think of a single reason why they will not give you a presription for medication like 99% of every other medical care will. The medication this PlushCare Dr prescribed was TWICE the cost of what my pharmacy charges….TWICE!
2. Since they can’t actually do an examination, you are sent out to 3rd party facilities to have blood work, ect. done. These places charge more than my insurance would cover, so I always had additional costs. There really isn’t any other way for them to do this, so just understand it’s going to cost you more using PlushCare then your typical medical office visit.
The “no prescriptions” part of this is a complete deal breaker and there is NOTHING upfront that warns you that this is their policy. I spent around $300 between the copay for the virtual Dr’s appointments and lab fees and walked away with still needing the prescription for the medication I’m supposed to be taking.
