I love the Plunge experience itself but customer service is severely lacking
I love the Plunge experience itself. My 2-star review is pertaining to when there was an issue with my 1st Generation Plunge. It took months of back and forth to get the correct part. The first part that was recommended to me turned out to be the incorrect one. I then was told to purchase additional parts to fix my problem and had to fight for those since the mistake was on Plunge's part. I was also sent the incorrect parts twice. Eventually I was connected with Kevin, who was able to get me what I needed, but that was a few months into the very frustrating process.

Hi Megan,
Thanks so much for your review. I am sorry to hear that the process for diagnosis and resolution for your previous issue was not the perfect experience that we would hope for.
With video call scheduling and diagnosis we now provide customers with the opportunity to connect with us so as to provide a rapid and accurate resolution.
I am so happy to hear that Kevin was able to get that resolved for you and get you back up and running once more.
Once again, thank you for your review and appreciate you allowing us to improve and make it right.

Second plunge
Second plunge, after multiple problems with that got fixed be me. I had to install my own parts for a leak, that they said "oh ya we have a bad China supplier" I still ordered the plunge Pro hoping for better quality. Less than one year later it is leaking all over the place. I have to leave a contact form asking me how many Amps my breaker is and other useless info. Nobody calls back and apparently they may have more bad "China suppliers". We will see how long it takes to get this resolved. Not hopeful after first Plunge issues and lengthy delays getting the to repair.

Still working things out
I purchased the Plunge Mini sauna with high expectations, but after several months of ownership, I have to say this feels very much like a first-generation product that still has significant kinks to work out.
Build Quality Issues
The overall fit, feel, and finish are disappointing. The knobs on the fan and light switch feel cheap and loose, as if they were never properly fitted. The wood frame around the fan unit was simply nailed in, and after only a few months it has already come loose. Insulation is poor—if the temperature outside is cold, not only does it take a long time to heat up, but the sauna also never reaches the higher temps advertised.
Performance Shortcomings
The biggest issue is that the unit simply does not get as hot as promised, especially when it's cold outside. In the summer, it doesn't seem to be a problem. When I first raised this, customer service walked back the claim that the sauna reaches 230°F, qualifying instead that it only does so under “perfect conditions”—a vague explanation at best. Even the thermometer included in the accessories kit confirmed the lower temperatures. When I pointed this out, I was told the thermometer must be off and that I needed to calibrate it. Why sell a kit with an uncalibrated thermometer in the first place?
Customer Service & Installation Frustrations
I paid extra for installation, yet immediately noticed a gap in the glass door, after a week of ownership. When I reported this, customer service put me through a rather lengthy process to “prove” my space was level—even after I sent them detailed documentation. Their pushback was that my concrete floor was unlevel, which made little sense given their installers had gone through with the job without raising that issue in the first place. Eventually, they agreed to replace the door, which fixed the problem and validated my original complaint. But they would not send anyone to pick up the faulty door, frame, pallet, and packaging—leaving me to pay for disposal out of pocket.
To make matters worse, the first replacement door they sent arrived shattered in transit and had to be rejected. This delayed the entire process for me. Missing parts from the initial delivery also had to be resent, and later they shipped me an additional bottom piece (meant to help shield wind and retain heat) that should have been included in the first place.
Design Considerations
Heat escapes too easily, insulation is subpar, and the second step should really be adjustable to fit different body profiles. These are usability issues that should be addressed in future iterations.
Positives
The sauna does look nice-super modern. Its compact size makes it a good fit for small spaces—those were my primary reasons for purchasing.
Overall
If you're looking for a sauna to fit in a small space and can put it indoors I think this product is a good choice, but just be wary that it still feels like a first-gen product. For the price and the claims made, the quality, performance, and support fall short imo. I wanted to love it, but as it stands today, I cannot recommend it beyond 2 stars. Hopefully, future versions will address these shortcomings.

Hi Jerry,
Thank you so much for such a detailed and thorough review of the sauna and our processes during your ownership.
Although we do apologize for any issues encountered upon setup, we are so glad to hear you are now enjoying the unit at this time.
We too believe our units are the most beautiful on the market!
Our process does require visual assets to make sure that we are assessing and assisting.
I'm sorry for that process delaying any resolution for you as this does allow for warranty coverage, also!
As you know, we are always here to assist further as needed.
Thanks again and hope you are enjoying your sauna!

It all started with a late delivery
It all started with a late delivery. Then the plunge stopped working after 6 days. Incredibly slow response times and an incredibly cumbersome ticketing system. Took nearly two weeks to get it up and running again.
My biggest fear frankly, is you guys are going out of business. And then I’m left with a 10k tub that doesn’t work. Maybe I’ll turn it into a planter.
There are positives- your field tech Paul was great. Billy from service took the call from Paul on a Sunday (after church) and sat there with your head engineer for 2 hours and got things back on line. Appreciated.
I bought because of the story. Shark tank, two guys out of a garage, during Covid. CA based……
However, looking back. I would have paid 8k-10k more for a cold plunge that’s reliable.

Poor quality- Plunge
After just 1 year and 6 months the Inkbird thermometer stopped working and had to be replaced and then immediately after that the pump transformer stopped working and had to be replaced. It cost me another $300 on top of the pricey original purchase price. I expect much better quality from Plunge! I recommend buying an additional warranty at min due to questionable parts quality. Cheers!

Tyler,
Thanks for sharing your feedback. We know how frustrating it is to run into part issues, especially after the standard warranty has ended. Back-to-back failures like that can really impact your experience, and we understand why you'd expect more.
While wear over time can happen with components like the Inkbird and pump transformer, we agree that timing matters and your input helps us keep improving. The extended warranty is a great option for added peace of mind, and we appreciate you passing that advice on to others.

Terrible Customer support!! DONT BUY!
I have been having ongoing issues with my Plunge and I can say that they have the very worst support system of any product I've purchased. call in and sit on hold for 10 min and get sent to voicemail every time, nobody ever calls back. I did this 8 different times with no return call. Submitted a support ticket and give them the exact issue and they still run you thru their template list of checkouts and ask you to do things completely unrelated to the issue at hand. Youu respond and it will take them a day or two to respond with more unrelated suggestions. long story short, my issue has been ongoing for weeks with no resolve. purchase any other cold plunge on the market if you want a good customer experience because this one is the absollute worst!!

Hi Jay,
I'm sorry to hear you've had some struggles through the diagnosis process.
Our team is required to run through a diagnostics process so as to be able to guarantee a full, thorough and accurate diagnosis takes place and also so any parts or repairs can be covered under warranty as needed.
At times, certain steps can seem unrelated to the issue at hand and I know this can be extremely frustrating. We strive to explain the 'why' behind these steps and am so sorry if this has not been done to the extend we would want.
If you are still experiencing issues please let us know. We are here to assist and can provide that assistance once more at: [email protected]
We appreciate your feedback and we are here to help you and make this experience a positive one.

Terrible Customer Support
The Plunge product is a decent product as long as it's working well. If you have an issue with it, don't count on customer service. They take forever to get back to you, they don't have parts for models 2yrs old anymore and are incompetent in even telling you what you need in parts. For an over 7K dollar investment I expect way more from a company and would never buy a plunge again. That said, the plunging experience is great!
Response from PlungeJul 21, 2025
Pamela,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re really sorry to hear that you’ve felt let down by our support. We understand how frustrating that is, especially when dealing with an issue on a product you’ve invested in.
After reviewing your ticket, it looks like our team responded within 24 hours, identified that your Plunge had an earlier version of the pump with different threading, and provided an invoice for the correct replacement part. That said, we’re sorry it still left you feeling unsupported. That’s never the experience we want for our customers.
We’d really appreciate the chance to connect with you directly to make sure we didn’t miss anything and to see if there’s more we can do. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help and always looking to improve.
