I've finished the first two levels of Pickup Music's CAGED module, and I feel like I'm finally starting to understand how scales fit together on the guitar neck. I thrilled with Pick Up Music, and I can't wait to continue taking my guitar skills to the next level with new lessons! I started teaching myself guitar when I was 11 and struggled using Youtube tutorials and song tabs to stumble my way through. I'm 24 now, and I am falling in love with guitar again with a whole new level of understanding and ability by following along the well researched course on pickup music. The value they provide FAR EXCEEDS the price of a subscription, would recommend to anyone.

I’d taken brief jazz lessons years ago and never furthered my education. I’ve followed pick up since their inception and have only recently decided to explore jazz again. It’s a mistake that it took me long to do so. This program is expertly guided and easy to navigate. I’ve been playing the guitar for 15+ years and I’m mad at myself for now only committing to this program. With the proper commitment to this program, you’ll be ready to take the next step and progress faster than you think. From 2-5-1 progressions, to my personal favorite, jazz blues, this program offers you everything you need to start your journey and continue beyond.

I learned to play guitar 20+ yrs ago, but never kept with it since I only took lessons for about a year. I came across Pickup Music from an Instagram ad and that shouldn't steer you away. The lessons are easy bite-size chunks that won't wear you down or bore you. They keep it fast paced which helps me get formal practice in before I play songs of my own choosing.

Lots to learn for blues players of all levels. Provides a solid foundation without getting too much into theory for what it is. Loving this course!

The CAGED system helps the fretboard make sense for me. I've played guitar a long time but didn't know how everything fit together. And this class is really helpful. I don't feel talked down to, nor is the material beyond me. The guided exercises with backing tracks make it more interesting, and the songs to upload for feedback at the end of each section range from easy to challenging, so I can pick what I like.

After wanting to learn guitar online for a few years, I was always frustrated with "learn" songs on YouTube but not actually learning the guitar. An ad for PickUp on instagram caught my eye with their process, so I checked it out. I can honestly say that I'm glad I signed up for their course and started at the absolute basic level. Every lesson gets a little bit more challenging just just enough to keep to motivated and learning properly. Pick-up are super attentive to any questions or comments you may have and really encouraging and helpful. I also appreciate their podcast, every little thing they out out on playing / learning the guitar really helps in some way. If you're serious about learning the guitar and want to do it properly and are willing to put in the time then I would highly recommend Pick-Up Music. For realz

I have played guitar for twenty years. About 15 of those years was me paying my fallback tunes off my limited repertoire. I’d pickup the guitar, try something different for 2 minutes before launching into my go to riff, get bored, put the guitar down and repeat. I used to get guitar lessons, half an hour a week with no contact between and often very little practise or progress. Pickup music has comprehensively changed the game and I’ve advocated it to all my musical friends who struggle to play something new. The format of pickup music learning pathways is brilliant. The video lessons are quick and sharp and a nice mix of 25% theory and 75% practical application. The ability to pause videos, backtrack and try again make the learning individualised to your own pace. Likewise, when I understood a concept and technique, I was able to move along the lessons to my own area of need and challenge. The performance piece is the cream on the cake. Every guitar player really wants to jam with others and show off their skills. The pieces are definitely a step up in terms of difficulty, but the quality of the music and the desire to be able to sound like the sample sucks me in and I find myself practising for hours to master it. The ability to pause, rewind, skip enables you to hone in on specific areas that you find tricky. The ability to play at .75 or .50 speed is essential and a much utilised tool. I have submitted a few performance pieces now and the quality of the feedback s exceptional. I always have trouble hearing the timing and the feedback from Jack Handyside (what a name!) really helped me to go back and figure it out. Thank you Mr Handyside. The company does a great job with positive reinforcement, really encouraging and immediate replies to comments and overall, quality professionalism from a quality product. I am playing guitar so much and practising, it is only my butt that lets me know that I have been sitting down practising for 3 hours without a break. I never thought I’d ever say this, but I wish my butt had greater stamina! Seriously though, I have fallen in love with playing guitar thanks to Pickup music. I am having fun and actually hearing the fruits of the lessons coming out in my fingers. I’m sounding like someone new that I haven’t known before. I can’t wait to meet who I’m going to sound like next! My only challenge ever is navigating my relationship with my woman and my guitar..
