I moved to a new apartment and somehow my cat managed to push open the service door in my bathroom. When I woke up in the morning, I noticed he was missing. When I saw the door was open, my heart sank. After failed attempts to lure him out of the hole, I got dressed and went to all of my neighbors in my apartment complex. I came to the neighbor that lives below me and he explained that he had just "tossed a black cat outside" earlier in the morning. He said that a tile was missing from his ceiling, but because his girlfriend is allergic, that's what he did. After hearing his lovely rendition of how my cat was now lost outside, I felt sick and overwhelmed. Several days passed of unsuccessful attempts with food, searching, treats, leaving the litter box out, etc. I came across petkey and registered him. I filled out all of his information and reported him missing. Immediately, i was prompted to print posters that petkey had made. Then, I was able to notify my local community by clicking one button (amazing!). I hung posters throughout the neighborhood. Three days later, I received a phone call from nearby neighbors. Apparently they had found Jack! I burst into tears, feeling like the weight of the world had been lifted off of my shoulders. When I got to their house, they explained to me that the signs are what really helped them compare to make sure it was him, and then contact me. She said that the posters were very descriptive and very informative. They actually mentioned that they were going to keep him, because he was so friendly. Without the posters he could still be lost or have a new home. From the bottom of my heart thank you! -Jessica and Jack.
