ZERO Stars! The customer service is non-existent. The corporate office is a joke. I bought a battery with a 3 year warranty - after a 1 year it was toast. Went to replace 1) the 'Boys dont sell that brand anymore 2) cant help you 3) no refund 4) come back tomorrow 5) oh - tomorrow, we happen to have a replacement battery at another store...are you friggin' kidding me?
Will never never never give these clowns another penny of my money. Total rip-off.

Horrible service, no follow up.
I brought my car in for break service, and was satisfied with the price and warranty. It was a bit pricy but the warranty and quality was better than what my dealer offered for the same price, plus I was promised a rebate which made the price a little better. I now regret not taking my car to the dealer. The customer service from the first moment was poor, an arrogant manager could have cared less that I was standing at an unattended counter for nearly a half hour before he put his phone down and acknowledged my presence. I had the work done and drove away. The brakes felt soft but I figured that was par for the course on a break change.
I waited almost 3 weeks before bringing my car back in because I was concerned about the brakes still being soft. The same manager arranged a recheck of the work. I was told that I should drive my car 5000 miles before the breaks would be properly set, and was essentially blown off when I asked if that was normal. It's now 4 months later and my brakes are still soft and my parking break hardly works. Because of the pandemic I now have to wait to bring my car to the dealer to have their shoddy work undone.
Oh yeah, and that rebate that was promised to arrive in 5-8 weeks. It's a no show after almost 5 months. Buyer beware.

Pep Pops in Pelham Equals Poor Service
The service manager (Jason Jordan) at the Pelham, AL location is absolutely terrible. I took my 2015 Dodge Challenger in to have four tires mounted, balanced & aligned. My wheel speed sensor was damaged by the service technician (Matthew S.) during the alignment causing my "Service ABS System" as well as my "Service Traction Control" lights to go off. Jason offered to replace the sensor free of charge, but the part wouldn't arrive until the following week & he still wanted to charge me for labor even though his technician was responsible. I asked him how much labor would cost & his response was, "We're pretty busy right now. I really don't have time to look into it." Feeling completely disrespected, I left the store. I called a local Dodge dealership & they informed me that the sensor is $75 & the labor is $300. Why should I have to pay for something that Pep Boys broke? Is this their idea of customer service? Do NOT take your car to this store for service.

My ac went out and i bought my car to the pep boys on Carrollton Ave. I paid close to 300 dollars and my ac was never fixed and it took 3 trips they really couldn't tell me what was wrong, and the tech who suppose to be a pro has numerous awards but that must be a shame! Oh and the guys who take your info is so rude, i would have fired both of them a long time ago.

The LYNNHAVEN store needs to be closed…
The LYNNHAVEN store in Virginia Beach needs to be closed down! They have the customer service skills of a bat. Does not appreciate their customers or the amount of money they spend. Rude, obnoxious butt holes!
Sent my daughter there to but 4 Copper tires talked to them about allowing her to put the tires on my Pep Boys card. Said no problem. When it was time to pay they couldn't get the card to take because they weren't calling the card company to get authorization.
They never did, dumb behind kept trying to feed it through. They then locked my daughter's car in the garage locked the doors to the store and left her in the parking lot to find her way home. I called got the authorization told her to tap on the windows and let them know. They told her the registers were shutdown and come back at 8 in the morning. Alone and in the parking lot trying to find a ride from VaBeach back to Chesapeake. What scumbag dirt balls! Gonna pay them off and tell every family members, church members, coworkers, veterans and strangers to NEVER deal with this place!!!
Had alignment done
Never tightened the back bar
The car swayed all over the road
On the highway
Ruined the car
Someone could been killed
Pep boys DID NOTHING
about the ruined vehicle
Ignored the whole situation
Upper mgmt refused to rectify
Ripped off the cstr bad

PATHETIC
I have been dealing with this ongoing saga for 3 months now...ridiculous! Pep Boys in Homewood IL. is in a word SORRY, There customer service stinks and their service department is horrible! I have written several reviews on different sites to inform others of my personal experience. When I first wrote a review Corporate office reached out via Trustpilot, and told me how sorry they were and they wanted to make it right. They left a phone number and email address for me to please contact them I did several times and I heard NOTHING back! So I wrote another review and this time I heard from a guy named Jesse who started off by apologizing for my experience and how he was the new Manager at the Homewood location and how he had new staff in place and he promised me a new positive interaction and free complimentary oil change if I came back, so I agreed. I scheduled my oil change a week in advance and I tell the guy on the phone Jesse has approved my comp oil change, he says" well I don't know nothin bout that you gone have to talk to Jesse about that." his speech not mine! So I tried reaching out again Jesse not there. Day of my appointment I call to confirm and guy on the phone tells me Jesse not coming in until tomorrow why can't I just come in then. The nerve how about I work and this was scheduled a week ago. He proceeds to tell me he can't reach Jesse or any other manager for approval. I just said I'll contact corporate and the Better Business Bureau and hung up. I will never go back there I gave them the benefit of the doubt and it bit me in my butt. Go somewhere that you're valued as a customer and where Management keeps their word. I'm not opposed to all Pep Boys just this one. I wouldn't allow them to service my grandsons toy vehicles. DO NOT CONTACT ME!!!

POOR Service
This story takes place a few years ago....Let's begin...
When I was a young piglet, I had my very first car. That car was my baby, my baby had a flat tire. Thankfully, I was already sitting in my parking lot so I wasn't stranded anywhere and needed a tow.
However, I called these geniuses and told them, I have a flat back tire and I need a flatbed tow truck. If you don't know tow trucks usually lift your car up from the front and drag it with the back tires.
Now since my back tire had a flat that wouldn't be a good idea. So I told them, I need a flatbed tow truck and bring my baby to your shop. They said okay. And I waited over 90mins for a regular tow truck to finally come after numerous calls to Pep Boys. The brought the wrong type of tow truck. The Driver then told me that the people in the office said that I had a dead battery not a flat. -_-
I called the office once again, and was told that I can wait another 90 mins for a tow truck to come. I decided not to and drove my car to the place myself. Yes, that is true, smoke and burnt rubber filled the road that day. Pull rolled down their windows and made sure I knew I had a flat tire. "yeah, I know" I replied.
We're not done.
These non-brainers then made me wait all day to change my tire. 1 freaking tire! People that were showing up after me were leaving before me. Finally, I walked over to demanded my keys back and left. They didn't even ask me anything, it's like they knew who I was they didn't even ask what type of car or key it was nothing. Dude turned around grabbed my keys and handed them to me.
Never been back since.
