Pep BoysReviews of pepboys.com

Scratched, Nicked, Gouged and Dinged the aluminum wheels on my Silverado while installing 4 new tires. Disgusting how they can be so disrespectful of customers vehicles. Very disappointed with the service and I can never go back there again.

I have been coming to Pep Boys in Collegeville for a few years now, and in the past year I've been having significant issues with the location. My catalytic converter on my 2016 Chevy Trax was replaced and not long after my check engine light came back on. The system check said there was an issue with the catalytic converter again. It was checked and there was not, They cleared the light, and told me if it kept coming back on, they would replace the converter under warranty. The light came back on. I brought the car back. They told me they had to run the code again. The same thing happened. They told me they'd check with the dealership and get back to me about replacing the converter. They did not. I called, I came in, I've had oil changes and tires replaced and each time, I ask about the code and the converter and each time I'm told that one of the guys is "working on it". Now I'm at a point where the warranty is up and they still haven't fixed the issue, despite my having several appointments dedicated to just that.

on September 7th 2022 I took my car my 2001 Nissan Frontier in to Pep Boys do to a fact that I'm the break was getting hard to push down they give the Diagnostics and they told me that the issue was the master cylinder do you need a new battery so they charged me for both on September 9th I went and I picked up the truck they said that I had fixed everything on it 1,160.00 on the same date that evening the truck All In Motion I was driving down the street stalled on me and turned off. I had it towed to my house for which I paid $80 and then Pep Boys let them know of the situation so then I took it back on same date 09/09/20 they performed diagnostics and stated it was the alternator that was killing the battery, attempted to sell me an alternator for $560.00,I told them I would purchase one myself ,they had me make an appointment for Tuesday at 8am,,, I purchased alternator $211.76 O'Reilly's,on 09/13/22 I dropped off my truck . I am writing about store 444 elliott ave Seaatle WA. You guys must be kidding. I made an appointment for 1 PM. Somebody who works in this store called me 8.20 am in morning and I was sleeping and I did not know this number is Pepboys. I called back when I learn this number is pepboys just in a minute nobody answer my call. And then I randomly check my appointment on website and Surprise!!!! Somebody cancelled my appointment. I called store immediately and they told me that we cancelled it because you did not answer my call. Are you kidding me? You can not call people -who have appointment at noon- in morning!!! Also I do not have to verify my appointment! There is no sign about verify on PepBoys website. I told the guy who cancelled my appointment I will be there on time. He must be very funny guy(!) :) told me we have no available time. You smart guy :) thats why I already made appointment and you cancelled it without asking me :)

My son went there to get tires. The quote was for 600 but when they finished it was 1000. I have contacted them on 3 occasions and NO response. Avoid Pep Boys at all costs. They are a terrible company

Went to have my oil changed today. Would not accept my $29.99 coupon. Price was $40 Instead of the coupon price. Asked for an explanation and was given it only removed about 12-14 dollars not that my oil filter was more than $5 or any other excuse. So be careful if you want to use a coupon.

Based on all of the 1-star reviews, why would you ever trust Pep Boys with repairing your car? I booked a state inspection appointment on-line only to find out when I arrived at the store that in Virginia, you can't (by law) make an appointment on-line. I don't know if that's true or not, but assuming it is, it seems like that would be an easy programming fix to ensure that VA customers wouldn't be able to make the appointment. If the executives at this company aren't detail oriented enough to make a simple fix on their website, what other details might be missed on your repair? It's called incompetence, and I won't ever darken their door again!

Took my car today to Pepboys in 800 Military trail in West Palm Beach. I'm 67 and I've been doing all my mechanical work since I was 16! These people are thieves, $501.00 to replace a rear brake leaking cylinder, NOT a total brake job. Charged $53.00 each for a part that cost $21.49 at Autozone. $53.00 for $19.00 brake shoes! $275.00 for labor for something I do in an hour! After adding up the numbers they didn't add up, I found a $46.00 "extended limited warranty" charge which I refused. I was told their job would have NO WARRANTY! because I refused this! It is an EXTENDED meaning it goes BEYOND YOUR warranty. I just moved to a place where I cannot do any car work. I would have spent 60.00 dollars in parts and do it myself! The parking brake cable was not adjusted... is engaging in 2 clicks... well I'll fix that tomorrow after paying $501.00 and I waited over 4 hours.
