A lovely counterfeit
A lovely, beautiful, polymer fake. There is a nice website that seems legit, and a customer service representative named Laura, who will answer your inquiries courteously and state that the price is low to promote higher sales. The location is listed as Gilroy, CA and the initial tracking information indicates the South Sea pearls are shipped from California. Then, many more days later than expected, the pearls are shipped from store named Xu Wei in China. The pearls are warm to the touch, and the clasp is rhodium-plated brass or steel. There are evident micro-paint flakes at the drill hole, and subtle perfectly straight seams on the pearlescent lacquer on each bead. These are, indeed, quite fake. I wish I could upload a video with this review to demonstrate. My bank required authentication by a jeweler for full refund, and my trusted family jeweler confirmed these as counterfeit. The return process is cumbersome, and involves shilling back to China, and paying $65 for customs, plus shipping.
