I started off by looking at breeders nearby and was disappointed when I couldn’t find a puppy available for months. I saw an ad on Facebook and saw they had purebred whippet puppies on the pawrade website. As soon as I saw him and saw the date available would only be about a month, I immediately paid in full for everything as soon as I could. After I did this I learned there are lots of scammer websites and became very skeptical and started stressing. I did more research and realized the owner of pawrade also owns Nextdaypets from the BBB and has been in business a long time with good ratings. I felt a lot better after the breeder contacted me directly and started sending photos and telling me about my dog. I was still worried but hopeful. I also was unsure if he would be a purebred whippet like I was told. They couldn’t give me documentation until he was delivered they said. I opted for ground transportation because one of the women on the phone highly recommended it over air since it’s more stressful on the dog she said. After a two day pickup delay and a week later (when I was told it was 2 to 4 days for delivery) I became even more stressed. I’m still unsure which would have been less stressful for him but ground definitely takes longer. If you arnt patient definitely go air. The gentleman delivering told me it could be delayed until 2 more days. Then last night I got a surprise text that they were one hour away! They were earlier than I expected after he told me the delay again which was completely understandable given how much they had to drive. I was really excited. Next thing I know they were at my door and he was sooo tiny! I signed paperwork, they took a picture of us, checked my ID, and gave me some food for him and a toy he liked. He had zoomies for about 2 hours after being in the car so long but he was generally happy. He got a bath as recommended and did really well. He was pretty clean just the coat was a little sticky. I checked over the paperwork and he is definitely a registered whippet and everything they told me was true. I was stressing for nothing. He’s exactly as pictured, great personality, and literally perfect. 5/5 recommend! The process isn’t flawless(like any business) but it works and they really did a great job finding this breeder. Thanks Pawrade, petpay, to the breeder, and David with the pet transportation for connecting me with the love of my life! It was a lot of people involved which always means more can go wrong but they really did everything they could for a smooth transition.
