I had a wonderful experience with the pawrade employees, very kind and quick to reply! Only down side that really upset me was that on "Hermans" (Walter's)listing it said that both his mom and dad were 6lbs but when I got the paperwork from the breeder it said that his mom was 6lbs and his dad was 8.5lbs...so that was extremely disappointing because the whole reason I chose "Herman" new name Walter, was because it said both of his parents were 6lbs.. so that was extremely upsetting after spending thousands on him. That being said I will still obviously love him forever and ever and ever. Just wish the listing was actually factual.

Hey Ashley, I understand that one of the reasons you chose your pup was because of the size of the parents as listed. It looks as if the breeder did not update the parents info as they aged. We do apologize for that and are hopeful your pup grows to the size you desire. Best wishes.

PLEASE READ
PLEASE READ: I purchased a miniature poodle puppy whose date of birth was 6/2024 so she is now a little over two years old. I kept waiting for her to get larger since miniature poodle dogs usually weigh between 10 to 15 pounds. She now weighs just under 10 pounds and she looks much more to me like a toy poodle. Also, she was a dark chocolate brown with white markings on her chin and chest, and now she is several shades of brown, gray and taupe. I reached out to Pawrade about this a while back and never received a response. She is a wonderful dog and is healthy and super sweet, but I do think it’s unethical that she was not an actual miniature poodle. I can’t imagine her not being a part of our family and we just love her. But people need to understand they may not always be getting the dog that they purchased. One of her parents must’ve been a toy.

Miniature, toys, etcetera are pups created by man intentionally breeding small or "runt" dogs to achieve smaller versions of a particular breed. Unfortunately, genetics are unpredictable. It is very common for genetics from previous generations to come through and you may get a larger or smaller pup than you hoped for. Everyone has seen the professional athlete with their parent who are so much smaller than them. This is beyond anyone's control 100%. That is why we are very clear on our website and in our contract the this customer signed and initialed, that size, weight, color, markings, etc. can and will change and are never guaranteed. While we are sorry that you are not completely satisfied we are also very upfront about this possibility.

Terrible website. Most links don't work.
Stay away.
Also, can't access my invoices.....probably by design.....so I cannot see what they actually changed me for.
P.S. They now have corrected the error. All is good and the 2 pups I got are gorgeous!!

Some things you should check out ahead of time
Good stuff: the staff communication and follow-through were excellent. Our puppy arrived in good health and seems to be well cared for.
Good to know stuff (Pawrade did not respond to my request to address these issues before I wrote this review): I'm not confident that we weren't provided a puppy from a mass breeder. Red flags ahead of time include not being able to visit the puppy at the breeder, or being able to see the parents by video. I'm also concerned that I was told the wrong location of the breeder (by 25 miles). When I went to pick up the puppy, locals indicated the actual northern Indiana region of the breeder is notorious for puppy mills. Finally, my pre-purchase communication and the "no puppy mills" marketing led me to believe we were dealing with a small-volume breeder. After purchase, we received the breeder's address, and Google Maps indicates it is a large operation with construction adding more.

Hey Tom, Thank you for trusting Pawrade and for helping you find the perfect pup for you that was delivered to you in good health and well cared for as you stated.
We carefully vet all of our breeders to ensure that they are fully licensed as required by the USDA as well as any local regulatory agencies. We carefully review their records to ensure they have no history of violations. "Puppy mills" don't even bother to apply with us as they know they will never meet our stringent requirements.
We give the breeders location by region so that you have a fairly accurate idea of their location. Our breeders always meet at a neutral, public location for safety reasons as is strongly recommended by law enforcement. The meet location may change due to the breeder's personal schedule so we don't give an exact location until just a few days prior.
We have breeders of every type. From "mom and pop" to full time professionals with million dollar facilities. And folks have differing definitions of "puppy mill". While many puppy mills do produce a lot of pups, the volume does not make a puppy mill. That would be like saying Toyota produces a lot of cars so they must be bad cars. It is the quality of care and conditions the pups are raised in, as well as many other factors that really count. You have the breeders full information on your documents. Please feel free to research for yourself.
We appreciate your concern as well as your honest review. We always appreciate constructive criticism and take it as an opportunity to make adjustments to improve our business. Best wishes to you and your new furry family member for many fun filled days to come.

Feedback
Areas that are good - concierge and nanny
Areas to improve - buyer communication-do not oversell the condition of a puppy. Website claimed the puppy was socialized among multiple types of people, this was not evident in the first week. No pottie training evidence while promoted on the website. Too much focus on upselling insurance and compliance in the name of the puppy. Once we took ownership, nothing from pawrade. Doesn’t convey sincere care for the dog or the new owner. To improve, convey more empathy for a caring new owner. Do not oversell a puppy status just to move them. Follow up.

Hey Beverly, thank you so much for trusting Pawrade to help you find the perfect pup for you. We try to accurately represent the pup as best we can. It is true that a pup can regress when rehomed as this can be stressful for some pups. I am sorry if that has happened. We do provide a 3 year Health Guarantee that ensures your pup arrives healthy and guards against hereditary and genetic issues. We also provide 30 days of complimentary Metlife insurance as well. There is no obligation to renew or extend coverage. If the Metlife rep may have been to enthusiastic is suggesting an extension in coverage I do apologize for that. We do appreciate all feedback and thank you for letting us know about your experience. We take this as an opportunity to make adjustments to improve our service.

Disappointing
Well, I was disappointed. I received the puppy I wanted; I love her and she looks exactly like her pictures, but she had a number of health issues that were not disclosed. That is likely more due to the breeder failing to disclose the information, as well as the breeder's vet who (I think) failed to properly document what should-have-been obvious issues. I purchased a maltipoo. The pup was advertised as being 2 lbs., which is important because puppies won't be delivered until they are 2 lbs. or 16 weeks. My puppy was listed as being 2lbs. on 3/28/26. She was supposed to be delivered on 4/10/26. I was informed on 4/7 that she could not be delivered because she only weighed 1.15 lbs. That means she was not even close to 2 lbs. when I purchased her, so the info posted on the website was wrong. When I did get her on 4/22, she was infested with ear mites. The breeder's vet claimed that she was negative for ear mites when he examined her on 4/17, but there is no way that was the case. She had a full-fledged infestation, with adults and eggs and that takes at least 10 days to develop. The Metlife policy you receive with the puppy only covered $500 of the cost to get rid of the infestation and did not cover the cost of the sprays I had to get for my house, or topical solutions to protect my other dog. My pup was also infected with giardia, which is an intestinal parasite. Normally, my puppy would not have been due for a fecal test until June, but in light of the ear mite fiasco, I asked my vet to conduct one anyway. Sure enough, she tested positive for the giardia, so that's another $300 not covered by the Metlife policy. I did make a demand under the alleged "health guarantee" and my requests were all ignored. I don't know if it was just this one particular breeder who was substandard, but it does not appear that Pawrade actually vets the breeders that post puppies for sale and does not verify the information provided by the breeders. Despite the carefully worded sales pitches, cleverly-described "health guarantees" and adorable pictures, there is no double-checking by Pawrade. Quite frankly, in my opinion, they come awfully close to being an online puppy mill. You buy a puppy at your own risk. And that's before you even get to the 12-page "reservation agreement". I can sum it up for: It's not a reservation, it's a sales contract and you do not get any of your money back, for any reason, unless Pawrade fails to deliver the puppy you "reserved". I have read some of the glowing reviews about how helpful the Pawrade staff is. They are -- before you buy a puppy and during the sales transition. But once that puppy is delivered? Nothing. I have emailed them 3 times about the ear mite infestation and did not even get a response. I am only giving them 3 stars because my puppy looks just like her pictures and because the delivery service they used was phenomenal.

My dog came with a Level 4 Giardia…
My dog came with a Level 4 Giardia Parasite though I paid $250.00 for the noise to tail vet inspection prior to her being released for her journey to me. The vet paperwork even shows there was a fecal test and it was negative. I find this hard to believe that the puppy all of sudden got this parasite from the time the vet did the fecal test on 2/3 and I received her on 2/12. I took the puppy the very next after her arrival to my vet and this was their findings. Somehow or somewhere, she picked up this virus between the time range above and Pawrade needs to figure that out on their end.
Response from PawradeFeb 23, 2026
Lucinda, we are sorry to hear that your pup contracted Giardia. It is very common, can be picked up by puppies almost anywhere and this is why it is covered by our PetPay Health Guarantee. It is also important to note that all of our pups receive a head to toe exam by a USDA licensed vet before coming home. This is included with every pup and there is no charge. You may have paid for an extended Health Guarantee but you did not pay extra for the vet inspection prior to delivery. We have make the breeder aware of the situation so that they may address any possibilities on their end.
