Updated review
I am updating my review for Pawrade. Thankfully our puppy finally arrived. The day I posted this review was a Monday and I was having difficulty getting a hold of someone over the weekend. What ended up happening was the carrier had lied on their contract with Pawrade. According to Pawrade, all contracted transport must have two licensed drivers to ensure puppies are not stuck in limbo like our poor puppy was. Apparently, the contracted company did not hold up their end of the bargain. In addition to that, the communication was incredibly poor and not straightforward at all on the transportation company's part. This led to a lot of stress and the delays we were experiencing. The transport company would tell me one thing and Pawrade Representatives another. This caused a lot of confusion, anxiety, and obvious distrust. I want to thank Charlie and Lindsey for stepping up and being the middleman when I was having so many difficulties. Charlie even gave me his direct phone number to text him! He has also been in contact since receiving our puppy to ensure everything has gone smoothly. I have been assured in no uncertain terms that these types of issues will not happen again for any other owners. We were also refunded part of our transportation costs. I am also getting assistance with activating the MetLife insurance given the delays and chaotic days that followed. I appreciate the company for going above and beyond to rectify the situation, ensure the safety of our puppy, and put measures in place to ensure that puppy transport like this does not happen again. Previous review for reference: I'm on day 3 of not being able to get a hold of someone at pawrade. We were supposed to have our puppy here the 4th, then the 5th, then the 6th. Now it's the 7th, no puppy. Terrible communication about where the puppy even is at this point. I mean it isn't like I'm waiting on a package. THIS IS A LIVING BREATHING BEING!!!!!! I'm beyond angry at this point. This puppy has been in transit for 6 days!!!! Before the puppy was even picked up we offered to upgrade to a flight puppy nanny. We couldn't really afford that but we thought it would be better for the dog. We were told the breeder didn't transport dogs by flight. Tell me how this is better for the dog and that we are going to have a good transition at this point. This has been a terrible experience with no support from Pawrade and lackluster communication from the transporter. I'm not typically someone to go all "karen" on anything. Quite the opposite. I have tried to be understanding about all the hiccups during transport. We have changed our plans multiple days and have had to reschedule new puppy vet appointments four times now because of this. Pawrade requires a vet visit within 72 hours of delivery. How can you even do that when the date keeps changing????? At this point I'm trying to figure out how someone can be here to receive the puppy when I have to take my kid to a cardiology appointment out of town that requires an overnight. I shared this appt information with pawrade from the get-go and was assured that the puppy would arrive before then. I will also add that we paid the reservation fee for the puppy on February 17th, and pawrade said the puppy was ready for transport after a vet visit. It took a while apparently for the vet visit. In the meantime we requested updates on approximate size and weight so we could have the appropriate items ready when the puppy arrived. The puppy wasn't picked up until March 1st. It was then that we found out that the breeder and pawrade had not updated the size and weight of the dog at all. The puppy was twice the size and weight! We have no idea if the kennel or anything we have will work for this puppy. I cannot stress how disappointed and frustrated I am with this whole situation and the lack of clear and accurate communication the entire process.
