Dog delivered faster than expected but......
Dog was not crate trained nor was a kennel left with the dog by the carrier I elected to pay for that drove the dog from Missouri to North Texas. Dog had intestinal parasites that the recieving Vet on my side did not intially detect so because of the very short timeline pawrade had for recieving vet review we got a false negative there that couldn't be later fixed and I wonder how many of those happen across the pawrade system because of that short timeline to test the dog after arrival. Took 2 attempts and about 3 months to finally score a negative on the fecal test, during those 3 months nobody would take the puppy for boarding, obedience training and nobody would groom him or even have anything to do with him. Very sad for a minor ailment that is generally not contagious with just minor sanitary precautions. At any rate got past that issue but then started to notice around 8 months the puppy was picking up an awful lot in his mouth and at times almost obsessive about it. Dog is recovering now from ingesting razor blades from my shaving kit in the bathroom. Turns out the Dog likely has PICA as well. I personally feel he had the condition at the breeder but in fairness to the breeder might not have been detected as such. This is my third Golden Retriever and I did not start to notice it until having the dog for several months. Hiring a behavioral trainer now and hopefully this can be trained away. Will also visit a behavioral Vet as well. One bright spot is I did elect to buy Met Life Pet Insurance the preventative policy that charges $80 a month. So far they have paid every penny for all Vet bills and for $80 a month I think that is a super deal. BTW, the folks that delivered the dog from Southern Missouri did so in record time (about 8 hours), not sure how they did that trip so fast with the mandated break for the dog to stretch it's legs because it takes me about 10-12 hours to drive the same distance. They had two drivers though. One of them complained they had to stop to clean the dog because he soiled himself in the kennel (I still wonder if that was anxiety or lack of stops for bio breaks for the poor dog).

Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns, Erich. We regret to hear you had a bad experience and appreciate you taking the time to speak with us today regarding these concerns. We are happy to learn that Halsy got the medical attention he needed for the various issues that have come up. As we discussed, the Giardia can live for a year in the soil and as this is a parasite, your negative fecal parasite review should have picked this up if it was something the puppy had prior to coming to you. It's, unfortunately, a very easy parasite for a puppy to get. We are glad he's over this bout. We are so sorry to hear he got into razor blades. How terrible! As you stated, it's hard for any person or breeder to determine how mouthy your pup might be as they age. We are happy to learn he is getting the proper training to hopefully avoid any further instances of this. As for the travel and crate training, we do not advertise this as a benefit of the puppies on our site. We know that transitioning to a new home will lead to some regression so we simply do not advertise the pups being acclimated to this. Some breeders do start the crate training process for some pups but this pup was not. There may have been some confusion on the carrier. Our travel allows for carriers only if air is used. For our ground, carriers are not inclusive. The ground travel may have been quick however in an 8 hour span not too many stops would be needed and it appears at least one was done based on the information the transport gave you. We are so happy you decided to keep Halsy insured to help with his medical expenses and had that assistance during these concerns. We are here if you need us for anything and happy to help where we can. We are wishing you all the best. Pawrade Team
