Started service on August 1. Problems constantly. Prescriptions are canceled willy nilly. If I’m lucky, I get my meds in 3 weeks. Too long. They use USPS for delivery which is either tossed on my front porch, put in mailbox or canceled for incorrect address (which it is not). Call center is offshore and not properly trained. Will not be using AARP United Healthcare for my Drug Plan in 2024.

I've been with Mid-Hudson Medical / Optum Care well before it was established to the point that it is now , in the beginning they operated out of two (2) house's one in Poughkeepsie and the other in Wappingers Falls there may have been one other in Hopewell I'm not sure of that. Throughout time the name has changed several times and it seems each time it does it loses more and more of it's quality from it's personnel to one of the major issues that I'm sure a lot of patients can relate to is the Phone service , You can tell they've been cutting positions they use to have 4 people checking you in 1 for each doctor now there are only 2 people on each floor doing the work of four on top of taking phone calls . the average wait time on the phone from what I've experienced is (from multiple calls) is No Less than 20 minutes and up to 45 plus minutes depending on what day you call and the time of day . The only reason I stay with them is I do have some of the best doctors around that I've been with for over 40 plus yrs. it's hard to leave and start over you just can't find doctors like the ones I have they make it worth all the BS .

This service is horrible at best. Again, I am waiting for medications while they call the doctor to verify the prescription-the same doctor that just called it in. I do NOT appreciate being forced to use a mail-order pharmacy because I have no idea how long my meds sat in an overheated truck. Do better.

It is very difficult to get an approval for a procedure that was certified urgent by the doctor. I was informed that they just got the referral on 08/24/2023 but in reality I called Optum 3 times even before that date to out find out the status of the doctor's referral and was told that it was already in their system awaiting decision. I already gone through several procedures in the past due to my medical condition and this is the first time it happen to me when Optum took over my health plan from Anthem. If I were you, i will avoid Optum if you have other options.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Did I mention they’re horrible? I tried for over a month to get my son’s prescription filled through Optum Rx. Never spoke to the same person twice. When it was all done and said, I probably had 15 different phone numbers and I ended up just paying out of pocket for my son’s life saving Auvi-Q. I’ve had his medication that I paid for on my credit card for about two weeks now. Still getting calls from optimum RX wanting to know if I want to fill his prescription. This company has serious issues. Absolutely detest that this is the prescription coverage company that my husband’s employer (Anthem BC/BS) uses. I fully understand now what the BS in the name of our insurance company stands for.

I have a feeling this pharmacy is a pure scam. First time i had to deal with them when my doctor decided to send there all my scripts (cause this is a specialty pharmacy for United Healthcare). I received an email that my meds are preparing for shipment. Excuse me? I did not order any at this point! Those are mostly IVF related meds that I dont need every day, only for the particular month and they are very expensive. I cancelled all the subscriptions with them and told my doc not to use this pharmacy. My second experience with them was when I was not able to get any meds in local pharmacy due to back order. I had to call Optum, they confirmed they had my medication in stock and placed my order. For three day in a row they kept canceling it without any notice, I called placed again, they cancelled again, I called etc. Finally they accepted the order on Sat. On Mon nothing changed -it was not shipped, but Optum assured they are preparing for shipment. I called them 3 times during the day, asked to connect me to the pharmacist and found out they wanted to talk to my doctor to confirm the script. Really? 3 days later? only after my 3rd call for the day you are telling me there are issues? Okay. My Doctor called them, spend 20 min and explained everything. I dialed 4th time on Mon to find out when the order will be shipped. And guess what? They are telling me that they don't have this medication in stock!!!!! Are you serious? You wasted my time, my doctors time only to tell me you don't have it? This pharmacy is definitely a scam.

Never get the referral, I went to the doctor appointment for my endocrinologist and find out that they didn’t have the primary care referral,rescheduled 2 weeks later I’m in the same situation, no referral still.

If only zero stars were an option! If you have HSA/FSA account with them, beware. I had a FSA limited purpose (dental and vision expenses only) account that had funds expiring May 31st. I went to the eye doctor and ordered a pair of eye glasses on May 14th. On May 29th I notice that the funds were taken from my HSA account instead of my FSA account. So I called them the same day and was told that because I filed a claim and sent in the receipts BEFORE the funds expired, I would have until July 31st to have transaction moved to the FSA account, but is should be resolved in 3-5 business days, so no need to worry. Well NINE 3-5 business days and a dozen phone calls later, my claim is still NOT taken care of. It's now August 9th and Optum is telling me I need to open a new FSA account so they have somewhere to move the claim to. I don't want a new FSA account because I don't want to worry about expiring funds and I don't want to have to switch insurance plans. I'm so unbelievably angry and frustrated with them. This company is garbage. AVOID THEM IF POSSIBLE!
