OnStar By GMReviews of onstar.com

Don't waste your time, it will just be days of your life you won't get back. Onstar is like having your new bride on your wedding night say "Oh, by the way, dear I forgot to mention, I have a Down syndrome child with autism that is now a dependent of yours"Onstar has managed to turn what is a nice vehicle into junk. Buy a Ford and go enjoy your vehicle.

i have been trying for 6 weeks to get the Onstar services working on my new truck . The associates answering calls are super nice but they have no power to fix anything and after tens of hours on chats and calls my system is still not right. they have some services scheduled to start in a year and others that should be working are ‘ready to be activated’ in app but no way to do it ( nor can they). Worst experience ever. they service plan silos are equally vague and there is no easy way to self bundle or buy one from the app. and canceling or changing HAS to be done on call. If they cannot do day to day stuff, why would i think they could help in an emergency?!? update: 6 weeks later another super nice associate called and seems to have things working for now. Not changing stars though!

Just bought a 2023 Chevy traverse. Salesman never once explained to us to get all these features to work you have to pay on star. This includes the lane keep assist and the front crash alert I was u set the impression it was included on the car. Not to mention my free 4 week trail on star maps and navigation never worked. And everything else that worked off on star was spotty. We basically never had much service. So don’t buy this crap. I’m going to get rid of this 2023 Chevy traverse because of this BS! I will take a bite but oh well it’s better than paying extra for features that the car should have anyway. All the other car makers do. Shame on GM and on star. What a scam!! Taking advantage of people 😡😡😡😡😡

DO NOT CALL THEM..DO NOT GIVE THEM A CREDIT CARD INFO! purchased a new vehicle last month..the salesmam initiated a call saying it was to set up a free month trial activation...went thru the initial questions then handed the phone to me and left. Lets be clear i had zero interest in on star. After a few questions i was asked for a credit card number. I said no thanks im not interested in the service. I was told it was for the free month trial and that nothing would be billed but they meeded it to activate the free month. I again said no thank you, i dont want to deal with camcelling the service. Was told i would receive an email to activate service if i wanted it after the month trial and if i didnt respond service would autmatically end...well now one month later my credit card bill showed up with a charge from on star..surprise surprise..have so far been disconnect twice calling them to dispute this action so it feels like weaponized incompetince to me. My advise...NEVER HIT THE ONSTAR BUTTON, and disregard anything your told by them. They lied to me and will to you too

Waiting 90 min for change tire service in a populated area. Onstar is not contracted with enough providers to give timely tire change service. When I asked what is my best option to obtain service sooner, the rep tried to justify and convince me to wait that long. No help solving problem, just here's what we do and why you should be our victim and if you get private service we don't reimburse you for not providing the service for which you pay onstar.

Onstar is terrible! Shame on them for charging people for unlocking/ locking their doors. And shame on them for charging accounts after they were clear they would not want to be charged.

I became an OnStar customer in 2003 with the purchase of my Chevy truck which I still own. I have allowed OnStar to bill my credit card every month since then. All was fine, until on or about June 2020. Apparently, they upgraded their service (as in increased prices). I was never told this by email, mail, or phone call. Instead, OnStar continued to charge my credit card. This month when I contacted them, I was told that I was not considered an active subscriber. At the same time, they could not explain what the $21.55 charge they were adding to my credit card was for every month. I was refused service. Yet, I was paying for their service. I was told that I needed to re-enroll and pay more money. This was because all of their "plans" were more than $21.55 monthly. None of the 27 months of non-service that I paid for would be discussed. I want to discuss it, I told them. I said that I believe legally it is fraud to charge someone and refuse to offer the service you have been billing them for. Customer service said that someone would call me in a few days to resolve everything. That never happened.

Poor excuse for a website. Convoluted and badly designed. A maze of webpages that lead to what amounts to dead ends, information missing (uh, how much am I paying every month for my plan? It's not listed anywhere...) It has been like this since Day 1. Not any better (maybe even worse) since they merged it with GM.
