We have been with On Star for about 10 years. We had about 500 minutes built up on the cell service and On Star took it away without warning and without any reimbursement. After several phone calls cancelled all service to both of our vehicles. Stay away from On Star.

I got stuck in the snow 60 yards off the main road on a side road. OnStar told me that they couldn't help because I was on a non-government road. They told me to call my insurance. It was 10 pm on Sunday night; how was my insurance going to help me. I asked them what they would do if it was an emergency and the support rep said we can't assist if you are not on a government road. I then called AAA, and they sent someone out. If the SOS button in your GM, Cadillac, GMC, Chevy, or Buick gives you and your family a sense of security, you should rethink it. This service is absolutely terrible. Even if OnStar was unwilling to cover sending someone out to help me, at the very least, they could have coordinated sending me help; they didn't even want to do that. It is a good thing I was getting cell reception, although 1-bar, because I would have really been in trouble in subfreezing conditions.

WORST COMPANY EVER!!! Was using their service without issue for over a year then yesterday I get in my vehicle and I get a notification that my service is inactive!?!?! I call in and they tell me my service was disconnected by me?!?! WRONG! Since they had already received the credit back to my account I decided to not reactivate my service. BUT now a get a inactive notification every time I start my car… irritating Loooong story short, after three disconnected calls and approximately an hour and a have later a tech was finally able to turn off the notification. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM ONSTAR!!

I bought a new 2021 Traverse in September. I have the unlimited internet. From the first days the onstar service has been spotty. It has gone out when we are traveling and needit most, then it suddenly starts working again the next day. I have spent hours upon hours talking with service reps, getting it escalated only to have a tech tell me nothing's wrong and for them to close the ticket. There is something wrong with the onstar but no one will help me. It's so very dissapointing. If I had only known I would have gone with another car company because data/internet is an important function for our family.
