I ordered a piece of furniture back in…
I ordered a piece of furniture back in June and when it arrived I was still painting my home and so did not open the box. After the painting I finally opened the package so that I could place in my room. Upon setting up the item, I noticed several scratches in the wood and an obvious chip. I reached out to customer service about a replacement. At first they tried to offer me a 10% discount and would look into replacing. This is a $740 item (not including shipping and delivery) and so that didn’t sit well. They then bumped up to 25%. I expressed that I’d rather have the item replaced and would hope for that along with this compensation. The company then comes back and tells me that they can’t replace the item because it was beyond 30 days. Now, had I had the furniture and decided, oh well, I don’t really care for this, let me return it and it was beyond the 30 days, I could swallow that. The fact is I don’t care if it was 10, 30 or 120 days the furniture was damaged and I should Be able to replace. The damage is due to no fault of my own and I paid good money for an item that arrived messed up. I then asked if they would consider more than a 25% reimbursement given that they won’t replace and what i am now left with is damaged. They adamantly said “there’s nothing more that they can do.” Sure there’s more you can do, replace the damaged item! That is the difference between mediocre customer service and great. I will never buy anything from One Kong’s Lane again.
