Want to cancel your account? Good luck. There is no simple way to click cancel, instead you have to engage a chat service who will take 10 minutes of your time trying to upsell another service or retain you. Come on, this is not a reputable practice...

The best source of information as for me.

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THEM I stupidly subscribed to the New York Times as part of a student deal they had where it was £4 a month for a year. After a few months I decided to cancel as I did not have the time to read the website. In order to cancel you have to ring the customer service in the US who are incompetent and rude. I never received a confirmation of my cancellation, just an email saying I was about to lose access. In the weeks and months following this, I received roughly 30 emails saying I was going to lose access and my payment information needed updating. This month, I was charged onto my credit card for this membership which I had not agreed to. I then found out I had been charged for several months. Bank refunded me so no need to call the incompetent and useless NYT Customer service. All I can say is do not waste your time subscribing to this paper.

They do their best to be impartial and factual, and have vast resources. Like every other major news outlet they fail at renewing their perspectives on what the world needs to focus on. We obviously live in the aftermath of colonialism, whose impacts linger and constitute the reason we are so divided globally.

The NY Times has zero tolerance policy when it comes to racism - or so they say. They've recently come under fire for hiring Sarah Jeong, however, a person who made tweets worthy of imprisonment in other countries (including incitement of violence/calling for genocide). The NY Times defended her by lying, claiming that Jeong was only retaliating against trolls, which isn't true because she was not responding to anybody with her racist tweets. Besides that, the paper is increasingly becoming lop-sided. They used to present all or at least multiple possible angles to their stories. But no more. Now it's just one pre-packaged opinion they would like you to swallow. In the rare instances in which they still present differing views, they never offer one that contradicts their own opinion - which is the hallmark of a propaganda outlet, not a newspaper. I am massively displeased.

The best paper on the web. It's trustworthy, and honest to all of its' readers. I highly recommend to read it on a daily basis.

Misses a lot of good stories. Should be more honest.

Fantastic high quality journalism and a great price. Some describe as a "liberal" paper, but that's because many members of the alt-right consider realities and facts that they don't like to be rantings of the liberal elite. If you want liberal media, try Huffpost. If you want alt-right propaganda, try Breitbart. But if you want reality: NYTimes.
