News sections are well researched - as for their online web site they are pushing family access. I do not share my account nor is the app signed in on my phone but EVERY login it wants to sell that subscription & once logged in go to the first article & it immediately says multiple access detected for my account, which there is not, even changed password to system generated. Still have to get the "verification" email

I'm not the only one seeing a decrease in quality..

I like the pieces written by professionals. I am not happy with the politicization of the editorial board. Why don't they fact check like journalists? They assume without checking details and doing their research. I know it's an opinion, but don't claim false information.

I like the news (eventhough the world is seen through north american lenses), and I find it 100% fair that news medias charge and be paid for their excellent work. I do not find it right that you can get a subscription in 2 seconds, but you cannot get the option to not autoatically renew it a year from now, nor can you cancel with the press of a button: but you are required to contact them through the chat or call them (yes, you read correctly: they want to be called - like people used to do in the 90s or something). I used a card that will expire in a couple of months and I don't even want to cancel my subscription - but I get annoyed by cheap trickery like this. Trully not compatible with the name the paper carries.

Great institution/content but pretty much forcing me to leave. I don't think they're matched as far as what they can deliver to the public as a service or what they provide as a product for consumption. Unfortunately the physical paper is cost prohibitive in my far western Washington town. Their digital offering is surprisingly cumbersome to the point where the learning curve to actually take advantage of available resources would take as much time and attention as walking into a brand new job. WORST is that my "all access" subscription apparently includes the daily joy of starting stories only to be offered the chance to add yet another recurring charge if I want to finish. "All Access" doesn't include food, sports, consumer information and no doubt other things I would actually want access to. I hope other people continue to support them because we don't need Newsmax or Murdoch to completely take over but NYT seems to have adopted flicking your face as their customer retention strategy.

I live in Italy. I have been a subscriber to the digital edition for many years. It is still not clear to me which columns are extra (I looked for that info today but could only find the ones I already subscribe to). I read articles that seem free and then all of a sudden I get the message "You have read all your free articles" or something like that. Where is it written that self-care articles are extra? If I know in advance, I can pick and choose the ones I really want to read.

The NYT website has fabulous content but the experience of navigating the content makes it the worst website of all major newspapers (I subscribe to NYT and several others). I end up reading the headlines only and skipping through most of the content because if you read an article and then click to return to the headline page it takes you back to a reset point that is somewhere near the beginning of the paper. With a hard copy paper, the experience is analogous to reading an article and then folding up the paper andgoingback to page 1. The reset is frustrating because then you have to scroll down the site to try to find where you left off. Add to this the fact that there is a breakpoint in the page where you have to wait, sometime several seconds, for the reset to complete itself. The bottom line is you won't want to read very many articles on the NYT site before you switch over to the Washington Post.
