I started with Northcentral University and they merged with National University. I was in the Psychology Ph.D program for 3 years. I ended up stopping because it was a complete waste of money. The dissertation I wanted to do was clinical related and they aren’t able to do anything clinical related. That however is not why it was a waste of money. It is a waste of money, because in a Ph.D program you should be connecting with others, with your professors, networking, conducting research…etc. You don’t get any of that here. In the 3 years I was there the lengthiest conversation I had with anyone was my professor and it was in week one of each class where you do a 5 min meet and greet. The professors don’t do any live lectures. You pay 3,100k each class to just read a book or online articles. You could accomplish this at a library for the cost of a library membership, which is free. Don’t waste your time or money like I did. I wish I had quit sooner.

If I could give this school a 0 I would they scammers expensive and they kept messing up my financial aid now they say I owe them but Im about to sue them

The professors are friendly, but the financial aid entry team is useless. They keep pushing everything back, and now I owe over $8,000 in tuition. They told me it would take another 4-8 weeks to process plus more weeks for disbursements even though THEY HAVE EVERYTHING ON FILE. I want to know who I can complain to so I can get my aid processed ASAP. This is silly, I started classes in April and now may have to wait until August or September before any aid is formally processed.

I've attended both this school and SNHU and so far national has been a 1/10 and SNHU was a 10/10. At national the professors expect way to much work for a month long class . In one class that I took it was about 2 writing assignments a week plus discussion board , plus at least 50 pages of reading and 4 quizzes . In the class I'm in right now the professor is very stand offish . I gave an example of the same type the book used and she marked me down. I argued the point using the book and she told me I was still wrong but she would raise my grade for citing the book. As far as financial aide I have had to call them 5 different times and it takes 2 days to get ahold of them and I still haven't received financial aide. 2 months in my classes have not been paid for and I have no ideas what's going on nor did I receive any break down of financial aide

My application/interview experience at National University: The second round interview panel acted like they didn't want to be there, as if they were just going through the motions. They were very non-responsive/nonreactive to my answers to their interview questions until I explicitly asked for feedback toward the end of the interview. I specifically asked how I stack up against other candidates, and a senior executive said point blank that I would be a good diversity hire (I'm a black woman). Long application/interview process (1 month between each step: application > first interview > second interview), with very poor communication/ghosting from both the HR rep and the hiring manager between steps. At the end of the day, I was able to learn more about the role and it prepped me to interview for similar roles at other companies. So that's a silver lining :)

I've been attending this school since the beginning of 2022. Every time I get a Pell Grant disbursement I have to call and make sure I can get that money disbursed to me. If I don't they'll keep the money without saying a word. My tuition is covered by the VR&E program yet my account balance is absurdly high. Every time I call the financial aid department for an explanation their representatives act like they no nothing nor have the knowledge to correct a mistake. My academic/financial advisor is terrible at getting back to me. I called and emailed about a month ago only for her to barely call me back yesterday with no results. If it wasn't for my VR&E program keeping me in their bachelor's program I would have tried my best to transfer out already. There's been countless times where their financial aid representatives say they will call me back with answers but I never receive a call back. I have to follow up just to make sure they're doing their job properly.

Unprofessional and disorganized. Getting ahold of an advisor is impossible. There are many other schools. Do yourself a favor and attend somewhere else.

I started at Northcentral in 2019. I also completed 16 courses and passed my Prospectus. My study was approved to get the dissertation going. I was denied every step of the way and when I reaches the third extension course for Chapter 1 I was told to start over. My chair was constantly on vacation so there were weeks where I would get no feedback. The extension courses are 8 weeks long and if she was on a 2 week break it was really 6 weeks. I requested a different chair and was denied. I left the university. I also requested the Post-Master's certificate because I left with a huge amount of debt with nothing to show. I also go an email from them asking about legacy planning. I would not spend another dime on this university. If I want to go back I only have 1 chance to start over in 8 weeks with a chair that is constantly on vacation and if I do not prove myself I will be academically dismissed. Update: I contacted the email that they said to contact. I received a response and they told me they were going to find out why I was denied a chair. Never heard back from them again. It really is cheaper to go somewhere else. Update #2: So they finally contacted me when I wrote the first update that they didn't contact me. They never gave me a reason why my request to change chair's was denied. But blamed me for not submitting enough work although the professor was on constant vacation. They are trying to discredit me. They are not student centered but money centered. I can't recoup my money but I can share my experience. There are better places for veterans to go. I come from a generational family of veterans. A lot of schools given veteran's discounts this place does not. I currently go to a school that is cheaper and I receive a veteran's discount. Plus, the creepy part was when they sent me an email to include them in my legacy planning. They want my money even after I am dead. Don't waste your time here.
