Horrible school. I had to get the Department of Education involved before they processed my financial aid. There are alot of incompetent and rude workers in the financial aid department. The instructors also don't take their jobs seriously. It's just a bunch of part-time instructors who already have other jobs at other online universities.

Worst of the Worst
This is the worst online school ever. This school should NOT be open for business. What a nightmare. I sent my transcripts, then after 2 months, they tell me (by email) they don't have my transcripts yet and I need to send it again? What a waste of time. NO ONE answers the phone. Advisors change all the time, like changing underwear. I've been told different things by different advisors. The financial aid office is awful. The whole school is literally like dealing with the DMV with no one willing to get you the answers needed. Not even sure how this school is in business...

National University is a scam
National University is a scam. I have attempted (with no success) at reaching these folks. No Bursars office...no registrars office....NOTHING like a phone number to actually REACH SOMEONE at this university. Based on the laughable responses....I will be pushing this up the chain at the VA and Military Education departments that they need to closely examine this school as a possible degree mill or an outright scam. This shall iinclude reaching out to whoever was stupid enough to certify these scammers! I have been TRYING to reach someone to enroll.....after spending multiple days and hours on the phone trying to navigate through their 'phone-hell' system.....I got to leave a message. To all military out there.....I CALL BS....look elsewhere. I got my REAL Masters from a REAL university...any degree from NU will disparage any degree you already have.

National University: A Failure in Every Sense of the Word
UPDATED:.
I tried emailing this VP on the reply section multiple times but no response or resolution. Avoid this university because you deserve so much more.
National University is the epitome of institutional incompetence, wrapped in misleading promises of support and professionalism. My time with this university, from 2019 to 2024, was defined by disorganization, unresponsiveness, and outright exploitation.
Quick to Save Face, Slow to Resolve Issues The irony of National University is that they respond to public reviews like this almost immediately to salvage their reputation, yet they were nowhere to be found when I actually needed help. It took over 15 months for them to come to a final decision on my petition—a decision that required me to chase down every department imaginable. I reached out to Quality and Assurance, Re-Entry, Advisors, Front Desk (completely useless), and even their so-called VA department, which is equally inept. The only consistent thing about this institution is its failure to deliver results.
A Sea of Incompetence I can’t even name five employees who are competent at their jobs. Most interactions were met with delays, vague answers, or complete apathy. The few employees who were helpful are so rare that they account for less than 10% of my experiences. For a university claiming to cater to working adults and veterans, this level of dysfunction is unacceptable.
Exploiting Veterans and Their Benefits
As a veteran, I trusted National University to provide the support they advertise. Instead, they nearly drained my VA benefits while delivering subpar education and administrative chaos. Their claims of being “veteran-friendly” are nothing more than a predatory tactic to exploit those seeking to rebuild their lives. I trusted them during a vulnerable time, and they took full advantage.
A Bureaucratic Nightmare Every interaction with this institution feels like pulling teeth. Administrative processes are inefficient, riddled with delays, and devoid of accountability. The lack of communication is staggering—weeks and months would pass without answers, leaving me to escalate issues repeatedly just to get the bare minimum of attention.
Do Your Research—There Are Better Options This institution does not deserve your time, money, or trust. National University is a machine designed to extract as much as possible from its students while offering as little as it can get away with. If you’re considering enrolling, stop and look elsewhere. There are far better universities that value their students and deliver on their promises.
I can personally vouch for the accuracy of every negative review before mine. They are not exaggerations; they are the reality of what this institution puts its students through. Save yourself the frustration, financial loss, and wasted time—choose a university that genuinely supports its students.

I enrolled at National University this…
I enrolled at National University this past Thursday and unenrolled today on Monday. I sent my transcript to the register office through the National Student Clearinghouse on the 18th and National University retrieve it on the 18th. On Monday, two days later, I received a message in the message center saying that I need to submit my transcript. I tried calling the registrar office numerous of times but no answer, just voicemail. I had been calling since 8:00 a.m PST. I also tried to call my advisor, who I was told was in the office, but also, the call went to voicemail. I also had a question about the credential I would receive but was told that I have to email the credential department and they couldn’t transfer me to them or provide a number. Once I realized that no one answers their phone except enrollment advisors I unenrolled quickly. I currently work in education and it is unacceptable for students to not be able to get in touch with someone in a department(s) to discuss their educational concerns. This is supposed to be a “University?!”

incompetent and useless
seems like everyone who works for them answering phones, responding to emails or replying to chats is INCOMPETENT AND USELESS! they don't tell you information you need to know, you have to figure it out on your own. you send an email and they either never respond or they don't respond for several weeks. you ask a question and they give you the run around and incorrect information, causing you to have to contact multiple different people to get what you need. The courses on their online portal are often incorrect with major errors like missing information, broken links, missing assignments, and incorrect answer choices selected. if i didn't need this program and to finish quickly i would transfer out immediately. worst university i have ever attended.

University Wont Let Me Participate in Graduation
I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding the recent communication about the graduation ceremony on October 26, 2024. Despite diligently following all necessary procedures and meeting all academic requirements, I have been informed that the graduation is at capacity and I am now placed on a waiting list.
This situation is both unacceptable and disheartening, especially considering the significant financial investment my family and I have made in my education at National University. After successfully defending my dissertation on July 10th, I followed the guidance provided by my advisor and made arrangements for my family to attend the graduation ceremony.
My family, including members traveling from Trinidad, an out-of-country location, and others who purchased non-refundable flights to San Diego, have now incurred unnecessary expenses due to the school's failure to properly plan and manage its graduation ceremonies.
It is unreasonable to expect students and their families to find affordable flights within a short notice, especially for international travel. The school's decision to place me on a waiting list is both unfair and impractical.
I have never experienced a learning institution denying a student graduation ceremonies due to their negligence. This is a clear indication of a systemic failure on the part of National University to properly plan and manage its graduation ceremonies.
I am requesting that an exception be made in my case to allow me to attend the graduation ceremony on October 26, 2024. If this is not possible, I would like to request a full reimbursement of my family's travel expenses due to the school's failure to provide adequate communication and planning.
I hope that you will take this matter seriously and address my concerns promptly.
If this issue is not resolved to my satisfaction, I will be forced to pursue all available legal remedies, including but not limited to filing a complaint with the appropriate accrediting agency and seeking legal counsel.
Sincerely,
Malik Ashanti

If I could give it a -15
If I could give it a -15, I would. I did my undergrad, and I'm doing my postgraduate program at National. I will warn every person thinking about coming to National. Please don't do it. When I first arrived at the National OMG, it was terrific, and that's in 2017; they had fantastic advisors who were top-of-the-line. They were there for you every step of the way. If you had a question, they had an answer. I felt proud to be a national student and a mother. But after COVID, the nation has taken a nose dive. Their advisors don't care if you walk blindly into a new program. Please don't have me start on the financial team at National. They need to do better. The students that come here are mothers and fathers and working professionals, and we need to feel that we are being helped and not that we are wasting our time and money in a school that doesn't care if their students are thriving or not. DO BETTER NATIONAL. We want an excellent education and feel we are being helped through our academic journey.
