Misleading charity claims
I brought bracelets from Noor Qalb because at the time their website stated they were in partnership with SharetheMeal and the UN World Food Programme, claiming they had funded 36,000 meals since October 2023, and that that every order provided a meal to Palestine. Those claims were a significant reason I chose to buy from them.
After purchasing I did some due-diligence and can confirm:
1. Noor Qalb do not have a partnership with SharetheMeal or the UNWorld Food Programme.
2. The claim on their website that they donated a meal for every order since October 2023 was not true, actual donations were a tiny fraction of their order volume.
3. Noor Qalb was not authorised to use the logo's of SharetheMeal and/or UNWorld Food Programme.
They have since been contacted by SharetheMeal and have now removed their claims of any partnerships, the logo’s, and the number of meals provided.
Their website now says "Part of every order is donated to families in Palestine" - however Noor Qalb do not specify which charity, what percentage is donated, nor any evidence supporting this new claim.
The company made mis-representations on their website regarding donations they were making. If they have been misleading on this, then one must ask what is a true and fair reflection on their website including the quality/materials used in their products.
Personally I would steer well clear of this online retailer. I do not believe items are handmade in London from the packaging it arrived from overseas. Furthermore, the Closing down sale is a marketing ploy that is on repeat every few month.
Spend on reputable companies, Noor Qalb are dishonest in how they operate.
