Mostly great experiences and quite helpful staff
The staff here is extremely friendly and mostly very helpful. We’ve worked with a few different staff members over the course of our engagement. The man who appraised my vintage family heirloom engagement ring was wonderful, along with the woman who helped us to have it re-sized. And they did a fabulous job re-sizing the ring as well. The issues came when we stopped in to pick out our wedding bands. Having just gone through a family trauma so close to the wedding, I’ll admit we were a bit delayed in selecting our rings. The woman who helped us this time was very nice and assured us that everything would arrive in time (and to her credit, it arrived well before her estimate and our deadline). As nice as she was, there was just always something off when working with her. When helping us choose our rings, she suggested that I size my wedding band up a little as wearing two rings could be a bit tighter than one. Seemed logical at the time, but now that I am wearing it I wish I didn’t do as she advised and just ordered it in my size because it is a curved band that constantly turns on my finger and in turn, turns my engagement ring with it. I’ve only been wearing it for 5 days and I’m already beyond annoyed that I have to constantly readjust my rings. She also took forever in ringing us up when we initially placed the order. Although she had everything she needed in front of her, she walked across the store multiple times for a stapler, pen, paper clips, bags, etc. and instead of swiping our credit cards at the register where we were standing she walked to a different one. We were amazed by how complicated the process became. We were able to walk out of the store with my husbands wedding band the same day, but she texted me when my wedding band arrived a week later that both were ready for pick up. I reminded her that we already had his ring even though it was in our records that we already took it home. Then when my husband went to pick up my ring, she had lost/misplaced it in the store. After waiting a while as she looked for it, he asked for another staff members help and ended up finding the ring and took it home. Thankfully, management did reach out to me and informed that they do indeed include sizing adjustments with ring purchases. We were unfortunately not informed of this when we made the purchase, so I was disappointed when it wasn’t the right fit and worried about what it might cost me to fix it. Knowing now that it is included is a relief. I am happy to continue working with Nelson Coleman Jewelry.

Hi Katherine, Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. I want to address your concerns. In regards to your ring being “lost/misplaced”, was the band lost or did it take longer than expected for the band to be delivered to him? We take this very seriously and want to make sure we understand exactly what happened. Our records indicate that it was picked up. To address your concern regarding our sales associate's suggestion on sizing, we commonly suggest that the wedding band may need to be slightly larger then the engagement ring since wearing two rings on the same finger may make them feel tighter. We understand that it may not always be the proper fit and this is why we include a sizing adjustment with any ring purchase. We would be happy to assist you with this at no charge as per our standard policy. It is apparent that your expectations were not met, and I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further. Please reach out to me at your convenience, my email is [email protected], and the store number is 410-494-0080. Thank you, Amanda Coleman-Phelps
